Do you guys think that $33,000 is a fair price for a 2002 197 & a hewitt hoist with canopy. The hoist is a 1999 so its a few years old. The boat has all the standard options plus bimini top. The boat has around 50 hours on it.

I would figure about $2,000 for the lift and canopy. Here in VT I and two friends have purchased three used 3K capacity lifts with canopies for $1,800-$1,950, in the past 18months. Two of the lifts had 120v electric motors.

What engine and options does the 197 have? What does "standard options" mean(if they were standard they wouldn't be called options)? Trailer(single or dual axle), PP, Heat, Shower & Tower are the big ones I can think of. 50 hours is really low!

I hope it's a fair price, I have an '02 197 and it sounds good to me!

Post up the engine, and the slate of options the boat has - ie MCX, Perfect Pass, tower, boom etc. There will be plenty of input.

If you lurk around here, you will learn what I did - these 02 boats were built just prior to a hull change that improved the shortline wake (search "hooking the hull"). The "hook" added to the rear of the hull creates more wetted surface and lower top ends as a result. I can get to 48mph on my Predator engine which is great for footing. In any case, I enjoy slaloming on my HO Truth a helluva lot as its currently set up and I'm not considering any hull changes for now.

You will LOVE THIS BOAT ! And so will all your friends and family......

Not exactly apples to apples, but I purchased a 2001 ProStar 195 in July of 2004 with 37 hours on it for $21,000.00. It was in showroom condition. 310 HP Predator engine with a single axle MC trailer and spare. No perfect pass, no tower, no upgraded stereo. Basically a stock boat.

www.nada.com has the boat price somewhere in the high 20ks (if I'm off be a few, it's because I looked yesterday and forgot to post). Add the lift and you're probably in the ballpark with that number.

How far away is the boat? Moving the lifts around is NO FUN!

seems steep to me, for 33K you can get an 03-04, which is better..
