The original owner blonged to Fort Smith Ski Club in Arkansas....
The second owner removed the Fort Smith part.

Am I alowed in here? the Transport Canada registration plate in the boat states it is a Prostar 195 8p .
In my heart it is a ski boat more than a wakeboard boat.
I also posted in the X rated tread but not as nice of a picture as this one. ;)

Is it just me or is that boat like 15 feet off the water?

Probably. There's a lot of water fluctuation on that lake. That dock was built just higher than the highest we can remember it being. Last year, it got down so low that we couldn't even get the boat off the lift without diging out underneath the cradle.

We can get some pretty good winds from the east. So when it's being put up for the night (as it was when that picture was taken, we crank the lift way up so it doesn't have much room to swing. Keeps the rain (if any) of it that way, too.

Wow, that is scary! I used to hate seening my boston whaler lifted 10 feet up onto my dad's boat, let alone 15 feet with shallow water below! You are a man with big juevos, eastie!!

Wow, that is scary! I used to hate seening my boston whaler lifted 10 feet up onto my dad's boat, let alone 15 feet with shallow water below! You are a man with big juevos, eastie!!

Now you know why we opted for the 6,000 lb lift. I had it on there last summer when I was down at the lake for a week. We had tornados come through (none hit us, but they were all over the area). There were 4--5 foot waves on the lake. I had run out there and cranked the lift up way hight to get the cables short.

This ended up being a scary storm. In the end, no harm was done. That dock is a monster. I helped my father-in-law build a good portion of it. I would expect it to stand up to 70 mph winds, no kidding. I wouldn't want my boat out on the lift in that though.

But when Rita came through Houston last summer, it was still a pretty good tropical storm when it plowed through Marshall (and over that lake property). Dock had zero damage.

I'l like to announce my return to the TMC forum after a very very long winter of visiting winter related forums. My mind only functions in two seasons... Winter and Summer...and now that winter is over i can come back! Thanks for welcoming me back. Our friends just got an 05' TT we took it out the other day...beside the leaking oil filter (that was a pain in the ***...3 trips to the auto parts store!) it was a great ride. Thats about all i've been up to...and skiing all winter. Oh...and i cleaned the boat yesterday...its spotless...and our sweet new dripless shaft seal. This season is gonna be amazing.

Aqua4fun -

We have a twin in Toledo! :-) That is very cool.

We just have the window open for some air. Does your window not open??? The stars are custom white/chrome vinyl decals.

The only difference I see in our rigs is that my trailer fenders are in the blue-metallic and yours are white. Interesting. Nice to see another Sammy!!!

PS - We had Sammy autograph the bottom of one of our rear cushions when he was at the boat show here. I should lift her up and snap a pic sometime.

Funny, I took my driver side cushion to the show this year, but iI was there the wrong weekend. Go figure. The story is this was his boat in the past, but I cant think of a way to tell. Besides, I hear a lot of sellers say that.

My windshield does open too, just hadent seen that on a closed bow before. I guess thats because I dont know of anyone with a 190 newer than mine.

If you ever get a chance, I'd be interested to see where you front/rear speakers are located (no stereo in mine) nice tower by the way :)

Mine is an 01 also. I'll take some pics and email them to you of the speakers but they are mounted on the engine box on either side in the (side) front and on the flat spots on the lower fiberglass right under the front edge of the rear seat. I think even the brand new ones are the same.

Do you have MTS Ballast in yours? Just curious. I'll PM you so as not to talk any more in the thread.

Brian,

How deep was the water there? Just out of curiousity, or is it brown everywhere?

Our lake is anywhere from 4 to about 10 ft. That picture was taken on the deeper end. That being said the water looks like that everywhere around here. You can't see your hand 6" under the water it has that much sediment in it. That is why we go out of our way not to get the boats wet inside. The water makes everything really dirty.

east tx skier
04-07-2006, 11:20 AM
Brian, when you get out of the water, do you see the silt/sediment on your arms? That's how Caddo is. It hasn't seemed as oily lately (last few years) though.

Yep. And after the water dries you feel a little crusty.

I think all of the sediment combined with the shallow depth is why we see water temps in the 90s by late June. :D

Nah, I know where every little imperfection is on the boat. And that secret stays with me.

Slight threadjack. So I'm hooking the boat up to take it to the brake place so they can chase down this leak (ended up being the master cyl. again!). Since I've again abandoned the boat buddy, I notice that my v-block may need to be raised on one side. So I snake my finger in there (not a lot of room and I feel a little bump). I immediately presume the worst and drive to the brake place totally ticked off thinking that the bunks have caused some sort of knot or blister. About half way there, I have myself convinced that there's no way it could be that. Turns out, it was just the end of one of the strakes or whatever you call those little ridges that run along either side of the keel until it flattens out about a third of the way back. I felt pretty stupid for immediately assuming the worst. :o
