Lakefront home on either a private ski lake or a public lake that has decent water. Seems like for under 350k I could get something nice in Dallas, think so? Newer home, if not new. Location at this point I am not sure, as I don't know where the office location would be

From my experience in looking in this area

http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=5306&highlight=dallas

the general consensus was move close to the office, much like Atlanta.

Thanks guys! I definetely want to go for something where I can store my boat on the water in a lift. The goal would be to get home and be on the water in 5 minutes or less

Jrandol, Let me know if I can help. It all depends were your office is and how much you want to drive. The metroplex ski club is a good alternative if you are on the western side of the metroplex. 2 sites good water and great people (not counting our crazy president...just kidding tex). http://www.metroplexskiclub.com. I'll drop you a PM with my cell. Call me tonight if ya want.

The best lake within 3 hours: Possum Kingdom - West of Northwest. This lake has EVERYTHING. The others; Joe Pool, Lewisville, Grapevine - you can ski on, but you will not be satisfied is you are as picky as I am about your water. These lakes are for ameteurs - the REAL water in Texas, you will have to be willing to drive a little to get to. If you ever feel like it; five me a PM, I'll take you to the SECRET SPOT on the Brazos River. 8 miles of glass regardless of the weather conditions, but you have to go with somebody that knows the terrain. I'll be happy to 'hook you up.'

Texas is the place to be!

It just seems that there is a death a week over the summer. Its a pretty busy lake.. You just have to watch out on it. A bunch of kids with rich parents taking thir $70,000 boat full throttle through the no wake zone........

http://www.senate.state.tx.us/75r/Senate/members/dist12/pr97/p052097a.htm
old bill.. much more deaths latley...

Senator Nelson's district includes Lake Lewisville, one of the most heavily used lakes in Texas and the site of 34 water-related deaths over a five year period. On the Senate floor, Nelson told the story of Stephanie Booker, the young woman who was horribly maimed in a hit-and-run boat accident on Lake Lewisville in 1995. "Stephanie is living and her courage has helped inspire this legislation," Nelson said. "She has raised awareness of the need for this bill."
