'87 is the oldest it can be. never heard of a Pro-Comp.....interesting.

'86 had a solid colored hull with a 2 color rainbow graphic on the side. pre86-to '81 (maybe earlier too) had the stars and stripes motif.

Interesting! It looks like the deck and hull of an '86 with the graphics, and powerplant (Indmar) of an '87.

You know your Mastercrafts! I think it is a procomp 190. I found listings for similar looking boats in European classifieds. Even one listed as a 1988. They were probably all exported. I'd include the link here but I haven't figured out how to paste a URL into these messages. Any help?

Graphics and trailer look 87. The dash looks early 80's, engine box looks 88 and interior looks 85/86ish. But, I doubt that is an 87.

To me it looks like an 87-88 style hull with a 82-86 style deck and dash.
Both models had the 19'-0" length and the 80" beam.
I also noticed it dosen't appear to have the bow lifting eye.
It also has the Indmar engine, I believe MC swiched from PCM to Indmar around 87.

Maybe it was a special model for export to europe?

That aside, check out that street and garage! The boat is 19' and the bow is in the garage and the stern is up against the house across the street. Imagine getting that into that garage. Looks like only way to get it in is puch trailer by hand. Maybe that explaines why it is bow first into the garage.

Here is a link to a simular boat in the UK

Wow! This almost looks like an early 80's with a late 80's engine and paint scheme. Maybe overstock sold abroad. Who knows? I think you should be able to do much better than $14000!!

Living in Belgium for 2 years can believe almost anything over there due to different regulations, had to sell a BMW and moped moving back due to emission regulations. Also saw many funny boats around Belgium, but wasn't looking too closely at them. The housing looks familiar, verrry tight! We had 2 inches on each side of the BMW to get into garage, very normal there.

Interior early 80's. NOT an 87 or newer. Motorbox quite tall. Weird combination of features!

H20skeefreek

actually the dash pod is '82-'85, the gauges are pre '82 and the rest of the interior is tristar (motor box and seat graphics) This thing is a real hodge-podge.

we europeans as you call us have had your Procomps since 1980ish
You only need to log onto mastercraft.co.uk to see that they have just sold a 1980 pro comp

I by the way have just took delivery of a brand new x2 2004 model who cares about the new colour orange stickers of the 2005 anyway?

rastuswatermelon,
Is that a reasonable price ($14K) for a '80 MasterCraft? I knew things were more expensive, but wow

$14k is not too bad a price for a mastercraft of any flavour.
Over here in rainy England Mastercraft are big money new or second hand. If you visit mastercraft.co.uk & look at the second hand prices you should get a idea how lucky you chaps are.

In the States do mastercraft have a fixed price list for new boats ? because over here everything Mastercraft is varied depending on the dealer or exchange rate or what ever other excuse they give for not putting it down in black & white.

Any chance of shipping me cheap add ons for my X2

I did not buy through a MC dealer... but, I beleive prices do/will vary based on your location in the states... as well in Europe. What kind of add ons are you looking for. Probably would be best to hook up up with a local MC dealer here. I have heard that Texas MC dealers have some fair prices. Additional thoughts from you guys/gals in the states?
Cheers.

I think the US's clothing "genius's" are trying to be too cool. They need to look at who's wearing/buying their stuff. My guess is those of us in the 30-40-50 year old range. I just can't get into a "trucker hat" anytime soon.

That is a 86 w/ 87-89 Graphics on the outside. Look at the bow Raised with a hood Scoop. Look at the trailer with the RAINBOW graphic on it. It also has a wraparound seat which was NOT produced in 1987-1990.

Hull ID would also be of help.

reference your question, I cant say 100% but that hull and interior and dash pod is from a 84 or 85.. Look close at the size of motor and motorbox and I dare bet it is a 454.. Very rare but they were a special order boat with that motor..

motor box isn't any bigger than mine with a 351

It's hard to tell if it's a 454 or not in the pictures. I have the 454 and there is the exact same boat as mine (Blue 1984) on a lake I go to with the 351 and it's amazing how much bigger the 454 box is. You can tell the difference from 1/4 mile away. I have similar angle picts to the mystery boat in my profile, but I can't get a sense of scale with the photos...
