I bought new tires 2 years ago, just before I came back to this website.

I wanted Goodyear marathons, but let the tire shop talk me into Towmasters. The price was just slightly less than Marathons. So far, so good. But I wish I had Marathons.

I believe the size is 205/75R14 ST. The orginal tires were F78x14 bias.

Marathons are the best, they are pricey, but you get what you pay for!

I only payed $79.00 and I think $110 on the rim. I'd have to check it again, but that's the best I recall.

Yeah, that is really good. I got mine for cost, from my friends tire shop. Cost for him was $85!

Got a near-new set of marathons from a local Pomps tire dealer last spring....about two years ago they had done takeoffs as part of trailer recall on some boats (I think it was for Ranger but not positive)...guess they had the wrong size or something??? Anyway, got two take-offs that were like new for $20/ea, mounted and balanced.

Check www.tirerack.com. Got my marathons there for about $60 each plus $15 in shipping.

Go figure ... There's a NO BRAINER :uglyhamme

GY Marathons, times 2. Tho old ones were very old (originals?), but were still in great shape. I put a fair amount of miles on them, many 3 hr trips at interstate speeds. When I shredded one last year (ran over a big chunk of metal, destroyed the tire getting it to level ground) I put Marathons on again. Used the other old one for my spare. Got rid of the carlyle on the spare rim that was the same size as indicated on the sidewall, but WAY different in physical size than the Marathons.

I've read bad things on all of the above brands. I had Titans sidewall crack to replacement in a year. I've got towmasters now, less than a year, looks o'k. Use lots of 303 protectant and hide them from the sun.

Also, I went to crome all metal valve stems after several valve stem failures. They rule, no exposed rubber to rot and fail!!!

Local speed shop, ~$9.00 for 4. Cheap blowout insurance!!!
