I have a 2005 X-Star. I have been towing it with a GMC 04 Yukon Denali. I recently bought my wife a Lexus RX330. I have been bitten by the bug as well....a bad bug I might add....

The towing capacity on the Lexus GX470 is 6500 lbs. The Toyota 4Runner has a capacity of 7000 lbs. with the V8. Any thoughts on towing the X-Star with the GX??

The X-Star is 4200 lbs, a full tank would be about 350 lbs, and the trailer is 1240 lbs. That is about 5790 lbs. without gear....but I figured lifejackets, etc. are pretty lite.

I leave it at the lake on a lift and only tow it to the dealer in the fall for winterizing, then back to the lake garage. My distance from the lake to the dealer is about 90 miles.

Thanks for any help here.....

Yeah, I don't see a problem here. I would do it. A Lexus and an X-Star. You are asking us if you should do this? I would do it just to look cool!

Try towing it with the wifes. If it blows up, dont buy yourself one.

The RX is only rated for 3000 lbs....it would barely pull the trailer.....

I figured that the ratings had a certain error factor in them, but I don't like the thought of ending up in the ditch....along with my boat...

I did like the look of a "Blizzard Pearl" gx with a very orange X-Star....

Yes, that GX is bada$$ and I don't think it will have a probelm pulling your X-Star.
