Holy cow, I couldn't hit the "buy" button fast enough! That looks awesome! $30 is a lot, but it looks too good to pass up. I'll report my findings here as soon as I get it! I can't wait to ski!!! (and we just got 8" of the white stuff)

Just purchased this as well. I can't wait. I just wish they could do better than "2-3 weeks". That is lame.

I've just about worn out my "The Secret Spot" video.

My wife will appreciate something new. She's definitely grown tired of the Secret Spot.

OK. I got mine. Shipping is much faster than the stated 2-3 weeks.

For what it's worth, and in my opinion, it doesn't begin to approach the "The Secret Spot" in terms of cinematography, content, inspiration, soundtrack, etc.

This is primarily a non-instructional slalom video (with some barefooting and jumping). I'm a slalom guy and looked with anticipation to viewing this DVD. I was expecting this DVD to feed my slalom jonzin' and jack me up. The trailer and the testimonials added to my anticipation.

My kids (and non-skiing) wife love to watch "The Secret Spot" and we often have it running just as background music and visual inspiration. However, less than five minutes into "Edged in Water" my 9 year daughter exclaimed, "This is boring".

I sort of agree. It's just too repetitive. Quite a bit of the film is totally without commentary. It's just slalom set after slalom set. There is some nice photography and some cool angles but it eventually gets tiresome. Well no, not really tiresome....just less interesting. Ristoricelli took the overhead "ski along" camera angle thing way past the "Hey, that's neat" to "Damnit, I'm tired of that angle. All I can see is the top of the dude's head and the ski."

As a slalom skier there is still much to enjoy. There is a of of big backlit slalom sprays (cause that's what's really important). Yep, lots of big sprays with lots and lots of backlighting. Lots of smooth extreme short line turns with tight lines (how do they do that?) and lots of west coast style skiing. But to quote the website, it is not "The Ultimate in Intensity, Insight, and Inspiration".

You have to be a straight up slalom addict to get any real inspiration from this video. Luckily I am.

But "The Secret Spot" it aint.

p.s. Two other complaints: It's not widescreen and I could not navigate the special features section.

wooo hooo!!!! I ordered mine friday and received it yesterday.
I have not read the tonyb review but I must say up front I am a sucker for any video out there regarding kickass-slalom.
This thing is chock full of good video of pros you know doing what they do best.

(It was a letdown to see the clip of parrish running the 1-1/4 @ 43 off and then NOT seeing the 1.5 @ 43 off with the prostar though...)

Very cool stuff of the skiers with their families on thier home lakes and I cannot say enough about NATALIE!!! I have always liked to watch her ski and just watch her in general and there is alot of natalie clips on this dvd!!

A fair amount of coverage on jumping I thought and a decent amount of barfooting too! (no trick, sorry)

mine came with a letter that tells you how to use the bonus features because they know that the dvd came out without the feature that shows which scene you are scrolling to... no big deal though and some really cool wipeout clips etc..

needless to say I was going to do some cleanup of the wiring in my boat last night but when I checked the mail and found the dvd, I poured a tall beer and kicked back for some great skiing... These guys are good.

I read somewhere that there's a commentary track. Of course, since you couldn't get into the special features, that's no help. But it might make it a little better.

The Secret Spot is going to be a hard act to follow.

commentary track is coooool! I won't tell you what it is, but if you get the video and see how parrish's dad trains him, you will laugh your assoff!

(Tony, you can get to the special features by scrolling down the scenes while counting your clicks on the remote.... sounds stupid but it works. The scenes just aren't showing up highlighted as you hit the down arrow button, but the cursor is going to them. Then just hit enter and you will see that scene or feature. They know of the problem. )

Regretfully, I didn't get that letter.

I also saw the first bu I ever thought looked good in my life on that film. It's the white and red one used near the beginning.

Plenty of prostars towing 36 in there too!!

There is even plenty of clips showing bueschesne behind his tige

I got it a few days ago. Great shots IMO. If Secret Spot is better as TonyB says, I'm definitely getting that next. After watching the pros blast through the course I said "they make it look so easy", then went to the lake the next day and.... it still wasn't easy for me :(

Watching this DVD also makes me want to go to Ski Paradise now! Looks like the perfect vacation.
