I am taking the plunge... the Polar Bear Plunge that is.

On Saturday, February 25, 2006, I will be participating in the Lake Cumberland Polar Plunge to be held at Jamestown Marina. I will be plunging into the now frigid waters of Lake Cumberland to raise money for Special Olympics.

I sure would apprciate it if any of you forum members would like to make a donation to help the kids. Please click >HERE< (https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=149887&lis=0&kntae149887=5D04639C247A46F0AC4FBABCB4E967B0&supId=119803178) to see what its all about and make a donation if you are so inclined.

Let's make it happen for the Kids!!! There's not much time left so please visit soon.

THE AVERAGE LAKE CUMBERLAND TEMPERATURE IN FEBRUARY IS NEAR 40*F. Ouchhhhh!!! That's gonna leave a mark.

Leroy and bcampbe7,

Thank you very much for your support! Dang, it was like 12 degrees at the Lake this weekend. I sure hope the air temp warms a little by next Saturday! Although either way, the water is gonna be about 38-39*.

It's a great cause though and well worth any temporary discomfort just to see the smiles on the kids' faces.

Wow! What a great event! This past Saturday, February 25, marked the 3rd annual Lake Cumberland Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics. Their fundraising goal was $20,000. Well, that was blown totally out of the water (pun intended) when over $40,000 was raised for this one event. Thank you for your help and support. To those who donated, you ROCK!!!

The above video will give you a good feel for the event. I can be seen diving in about two-thirds of the way through the video. Man, was it cold!

This is me just after coming out of the water. Did I mention how cold the water was?
