does anyone of any sites to find boats. I follow the ads on boat trader religiously, but too many of these boats are out of my price range. I am looking for an 87 and newer prostar 190, and all too often these boats are out of my teacher salary, and wife in college, income. any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to buy my first boat and know exactly what I want just don't want to spend the money for a completely refurbished model.

thanks

You could also try usedboats.com

You have to register there, but it is free.

Try www.boattraderonline.com or Boats.com (www.boats.com). Both to be excellent places to find boats. Boats.com has an email notification for the boats that you want to find. I found my Maristar on Boattraderonline last year. Check it out.

Look on this site under "marketplace" or the ebay link in my signature

I was watching that one to see if it met the reserve. I would think that boat will go in the high 20's or low 30's and I'm trying to stay at 20k or a little more for the right boat.

Thanks though.

Thanks for the posts on the 205's, but since I do not need a boat untill spring, I am starting out very pickey for my new boat. I would like to find a 1998, red and white, gray interior, less tahn 300 hrs and east of the mississippi. Good luck right!

Pickey is ok, there is one other very pickey guy on here that we followed for months! Right MarkP!

When you are buying a boat for many years make it the right one! If you really say what you want I've seen amazing searches from the people on this board!

Good luck!

Now, when someone on the board finds it tomorrow you are going to be very upset since you can't purchase till spring.

And if your luck is anything like mine, you will find it now, and then not be able to find what you want in the spring. :D

I have found a lot of boats out there, just not in my price range. I know my expectations are unrealistic, but I still want to try and get the most for the money. The price range I have been looking in is under 11k for like I said a late eighties early nineties 190.

11k for a late '80s to early '90s PS is not out of line. I picked up my '96 PS for $14k, w/ 280 hrs. Was going to look at a '90 PS w/ 500 hrs for $8500, but that one sold very quickly.
You're starting to get into the right time of year to find people unloading boats.
The good deals move pretty quickly, though, so you have to act quickly if you find the right one.

I agree with Thrall. Now is the best time to buy, and they do go quick. Around Springtime the prices will come up a bit, and the boats will not sell as fast. I see a pattern...

I'm looking to replace my '87 190 this fall. Its in good condition with 1100 hours. Re-upholstered a couple years ago. ~$9k although I haven't done much research yet into its worth. Located north of Seattle. Just have to find the boat I want...

2000 or newer x-10 or 210vrs - need more room for kids and dogs.

That is a Dixie 299 Super Skier. I learned to ski behind one of those; they were made in the Hickory, NC area so there used to be a lot of them around here.
