I am now the high bidder. US $737,236.25. I really, really, really want the boat.8p
Edit: would it be unethical to sign up the E-mail he posted to several bulk porn e-mailers?

Hehehhee, yep, your winnin. I just got an email from the owner of the Ebay account saying it's been stolen. I told him we know & we're just messin with the pinhead that stole it.
Hey Richard, it's a bogus auction because the guy is willing to sell a $40000 boat for $5700. Pretty typical Ebay scam.

He tells you his e-bay account or paypal or something doesn't work right now. He asks you to contact him directly (outside of e-bay). You send a check to a p.o. box. He cashes your check and everyone else's that he can get to fall for it. He disappears, steals another account, and starts again. I assume by clearing the bids he gets more fish to bite.

Haven't I told you guys that it doesn't do any good to bid until the last few seconds of an ebay auction. ;) ;) ;)

AirJunky
02-09-2006, 05:56 PM
hehehe, we had it up to $736,000.00 before he made it so that only approved bidders can bid on it. So I sent a msg to the acct owner. Another auction that won't last thru the end of the day.

Oh, now you need pre-approval to bid. So much for my getting the boat for $30.52.

thats hilarious, where do thses scammers get the boat pics? are those stolen form another auction or boat trader?

erkoehler

I have seen the same boat on multiple auctions, so I would assume they steal the pics from other auctions as well.

this the email response i got, for those of you interested ....

Dear Sir ,
I want to be honest with you and I inform you that i have stop the auction because i have 2 buyers interested in this boat , they are willing to pay the buy it now price .To be fair with all possible buyers I will sell the boat to the first buyer that will arange the Square Trade deposit payment . If you are able to make the payment today or tomorrow you will be the next owner of this boat .
First I would like to tell you that I am in United Kingdom and the boat is in Square Trade's custody in US the boat will be shipped from there on my expence .
The boat is like new , in perfect condition . I am selling this boat because the shipping to Europe will cost me to much .I have this boat from my father in law .The Buy it now price is $5,700 . I will sell the boat to the first one that makes a 2,850 $ deposit through Square Trade .
Terms,Conditions Shipping and handling:
The shipping address must be provided before sending the deposit payment. The boat will be shipped through JC MOTORS or DAS Shipping Company . The boat will only be sent after receiving the deposit payment. I agreed with eBay Square Trade to send my boat to its warehouse since I am not in US .
This way, both sides (seller and buyer) are insured by eBay.
Payment:
If you will offer the buy it now price I will suport all the shipping from the warehouse to your address .
For the deposit payment i would like to use eBay Square Trade as a third party . They will keep your money until you get the boat and will release it to me upon delivery .
Here are my name and address you need for the payment in case you decide to buy the boat :
Mark Danilin
22 Merton High Street
London SW19 1DN
United Kingdom
The boat is ready for shipment, i just need the payment confirmation from Square Trade with the transfer's details and the boat will be delivered to your address.
REFUND-After the boat arrives, you have a 7 days period for inspection. If the boat is different than the way i've described it, 100% refund - transfer fees and the boat will be shipped back to the warehouse on my expence. Anyway, i don't think it will be necesary, you'll love this boat from very first moment you'll see it.
Buy with confidence!
I will have pay for an insurance to eBay Square Trade as proof my trustworthiness.
Thanks for the conceded time .
I am looking forward to your reply.

That guy writes an awful lot like my friend, the honorable John Mugabwi, chief financial advisor to the deposed former president of Nigeria. Maybe he is expanding his business?

............ first buyer that will arange the Square Trade deposit payment .
The funny thing is that Square Trade doesn't do payments. It's a dispute resolution service, not a payment service. So my guess is he will pull the old Western Union thing out of his bag of tricks in the next email. So tell him it is absolutely against Square Trade's way of business to deal with Western Union in any way. They usually stop dealing with you at all at that point.

I still think that Siz should at least go by the listed address if it's not too inconvenient for him. I bet Mark would be surprised either way (if it's him or not). - if his name is Mark...
