For those of you who want to get your GatorStep on, they have 03-11 template! Give them a call, ask for Loren, he is the owner.

Did you do the work yourself? Can you give a brief overview of time spent and difficulty?

It looks great!

No, I am local to the company that makes it so they did it but I've done it on other boats before. Comes with a template of which piece goes where, then it's peel and stick. Super easy.

Well it sounds like TJ will be getting a call from me soon....

Anyone have any comparison of Gator Step to the Seadek?

I talked to him today as well. $600 - $700 is what he quoted me for my 06 X2. He did not have a template, so if anyone does and would like to share that would be awesome!

It cleans up very well, the only time I haven't been able to clean something up was glue. But that isn't going to clean up in carpet either..

From what I know, better customer service.. It's soft but not too soft, durable, then have an array of colors. I hear it cleans better than SeaDeck but don't have anything to back that up.

Have you been to a Hotel in Cali recently? Plaque that states, 'this hotel was built with cancer causing materials'.

I agree. Let me know if you contact them about an X14 DD. I would be interested in purchasing from them.

I recently went through this same process and chose Seadek, I'll explain. Seadek vs Gatorstep - Price is close enough not to be a factor. Customer service with Gatorstep is awesome. Despite their bad rap, the Seadek customer service was awesome as well. Great communication and fast turn around time. Competition has been good for the consumer! For me, the final decision turned out to be which company had a template for my boat. Seadek did, Gatorstep didn't. I did not wish to make a template.

If both have a template, I would flip a coin. Its basically the same material, I can't imagine one having distinct advantages over the other.

A note regarding the template, it is only as good as the consumer who first made it. Make sure you get one and fit it to your boat. Mine needed a few minor tweaks and one major; the seat pedestal was way off. Apparently Mastercraft doesn't do much measuring before they anchor the seat. Eyeball it???

One more note, the price is based on how many full sheets is used in your design/boat. The price to do a X2 was exactly the same as the X15 and Xstar (previous generation). The X2 has more waste.

in my experience seadeck's customer service was absolutely awful.

My dad had the local seadeck rep and gatorstep both price the oversized swim platform for his formula, seadeck was almost twice the price.

Has anyone installed this on older boats after removing the glue down carpet?

I am wondering about this to. I am about to rip out my glued in carpet from my X-30 and either do GatorStep or Deckadence. I like the idea of being able to completely remove the Deckadence and hose it off. However, I think the GatorStep gives a more finished look. Also, GatorStep is a 3 hour drive with the boat to have them do the pattern and install it. That is a big advantage.

Does anyone have comments (good or not so good) about the differences between GatorStep and Deckadence?

One thing we discovered at the boat show was that the Gatorstep stick incredibly well to carpet. We had carpet in our booth and we put down a Gatorstep Supreme swim platform pad outside of our closing room. It was near impossible to remove, took 2 of us. We told Loren the owner about it because it could open up other possibilities...told him we wanted royalty checks :) Maybe he can use your boat as an experiment? :D

I am more worried about what is under my carpet, is it black, white or aluminum? not sure how it would look since some of the deck will show between the joints.

I'm fairly certain the fiberglass floor under your carpet is black.
