I will be vacationing in the town of Lake Placid (southeast of Tampa and southwest of Orlando), Florida this summer for a few days and will not have a ski boat :-( I will be on a lake called Lake Grassy. Does anyone know if you can rent one and from where? Thx!

I have never seen an inboard ski boat for rent, but there are always ski schools????

Seems to me most rentals are inexpensive fishing/pontoon/ and inboard outboards.

Members of my Ski team have a house on lake grassy! I don't know anything about renting ski boats but I wouldn't mind meeting people out there!

I have never seen a ski boat for rent in Florida. Maybe it has to do with state liability requirements. Around here, all they rent are pontoons....

Shyea, except that the wall from the water to the top of the green is like 10' tall. You'd have to stand on your tower to climb on it!
Not to mention that CDA is choppy as all he11 in the summer for a 20' ski boat.

Yes, inboards are rented.... look up boat dealers in that area & give them a call. Grassy is pretty small. But there are a dozen other lakes within a few minutes drive of there. You might also try getting your fix by hooking up with other skiers who live in the area.
Good luck.

Looking for probably up to 5 days - and a couple of hours each day - not a big deal but I will be at my parents house on one of the canals and need to ski :-); and they only have a pontoon boat :-(

Never hear of anyone renting ski boats, to much liability. That has been my experience dealing with boat rental places, they dont allow anyone to ski behind their boats because of insurance limitations. I get some refferals to my ski school down here in south florida from rental companies. I am about 1 hour from lake grassy. Look me up.
