I am sitting here trying to figure out what we are going to eat? The weather in Fort Worth will be perfect for grilling! We are having roughly 8 adults and only 2 kids that we have to worry about feeding. Any ideas and what are you guys doing for the game? I know what I
am drinking-That's the easy part!

I was working in Chicago yesterday in the meat packer area and picked up 10lbs of some of the best Italian beef in the city. They vacuum pack it fresh and the gravy is frozen.
Mrs. is making about 5lbs of her great potato salad.
Plenty of munchies and booze of course... ;)

danimal, that sounds gormet...but what is "hot bacon dressing"?

4 strips bacon
2 tbsp. onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper

Cook bacon until crisp, drain and crumble. Add onion to drippings in skillet, saute stirring frequently 1-2 minutes until tender. Remove from heat. Stir in cornstarch until smooth. Gradually stir in water, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium heat and boil 1 minute.

Pour hot dressing over spinach salad with rings of sliced onion and a slice of hard boiled egg.

Good stuff!

No problem. That is really the only salad I enjoy when I go out to dinner. Most restaurants will serve it. Do your tastebuds a favor and order it sometime.

Went to our local Wal-Mart Supercenter last night to pick up some face fillers for Sunday and they had a big, big table full of stuff for the SUPERBOWL. Among the items were football cupcakes, football cakes, football field sheet cakes, salty snacks, beer, wine, candy and 1 gallon jars of PICKLED PIGS FEET, PENROSE SAUSAGES, and PICKLED BOILED EGGS! I sure am glad i'm not the dude who is working at the waste treatment plant on monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've switched to salsa burgers. i lost the receipe to the shrimp so I usually just eyeball it. pour a good amount of tequila in a bowl, add about half a cup of fresh lime juice, red pepper flakes/lemon pepper to taste(alot of lp). throw the shrimp in and let set for about an hour. i have a wok for the grill that has holes in it. i pitch the shrimp in and throw some more lemon pepper on them and shake until done!

Have to revive this old thread since all I am thinking about is all the food I am going to be eating come sunday afternoon.
Party is at my house, theme for food is always based on the teams in the game. So Arizona vs. Pittsburgh. We are providing a Southwestern Chicken Chili and BBQ pulled pork hoagies. Potluck so i'm hoping for quite a spread! Damn, I'm hungry!

Not complaining that there won't be any chowda this year!

You beat me to this one. Nothing says Super Bowl like 4 pounds of pork rolled up into a loaf. I agree with the heart attack on a plate, but I bet if it's cooked right and lean sausage is used, it won't be as bad as it could be.

my absolute favorite is conecuh sausage on the grill w/ some honey and spicy mustard mix glazed over it while it cooks... could be the best thing in the world... don't try it unless you're prepared to be addicted... ps you don't have to do the honey/spicy mustard glaze to make them good but i like the addition

Kurt Warner has played for the St. Louis Rams in their Superbowl and is with the Arizona Cardinals, that's as close as your gonna get to the St.Louis Cardinals football team in the Superbowl.

It was tongue and cheek.

Atlfootr posted a poll this morning that asked if the St. Louis Cardinals or the Pittsburg Steelers would win the Super Bowl... :)

Not exactly traditional Super bowl fare, but I grilled 2 dozen oysters on the half shell. If you like oysters and like grilling, this is a winner. They serve them at ACME oyster bar in new orleans and destin so if you are ever there, order them! Doing them at home is pretty easy and taste great. recipe:
