Ok, so I did a little boattrader history check and it seems that 197s went to a 3 piece windshield in 2004 and still have 5 piece setups in Tournament Team boats. Why?

Who's got a 3 piece? Is there distortion when looking through the glass? Are TT boats penny pinched for the pros who get them for free?

And, as best as I can tell the 2006 TT boat on the back of the latest WS Mag has a 5 piece - just don't want to scan it.

i dont remember how the visual for tracking was for the courseon my 197 , but i wonder if that frame made for a good reference point on the bouy line.

The 3 pc will be a spendy fix if that big curved piece ever has to be replaced.

Since there is also a change in the frame color from natural alum. to black, it could be a change in manufacturers. Ask Greg Clower "Customer Relations" or Your dealer, they should know or maybe someone out there can confirm this theory. It could be one supplier has bigger cocanuts than another when it comes to the size of a piece of glass.

Here is the 04 tt 197 and 05 197 next to one another and you are correct

I too was thinking that the black had something to do with whether or not you get 3pc or 5pc

I'd have to disagree ... but then again, I didn't trade down:)

C'mon man, when you lay a granite countertop what costs more and looks better ... the fewer the pieces the better.

I'm just bustin' your balls about the Bu' ... we all know you needed a boat with a bigger wake for the pro tubing tour, I understand completely!

On my 2003 I have a silver windshield and the 5 piece windshield. Here is a picture. It is kind of hard to see, but the side windshield supports are black.

its probably depends on what the guys at the factory decided to use that day

Jim@BAWS

They decided to use "RED" that day like the customer or dealer requested. Our boats even come with Fiberglass floors and closed cell foam...what a concept !!

rodltg2
01-31-2006, 05:28 PM
so what are saying jim? that they get ordered that way. did anyone that ordered their 197 get that as an option?

jim, obviously your statement about the fiberglass floors and foam is a shot at me to prove mc's are better built, we know that already. let it go.

thanks. I went in to order a new red 190 or 197 and after talking to the dealership owner for over an hour he remember he had a red PS197 back in storage. I couldn't believe when I saw it sitting in the back warehouse of the dealership. It was used one time by 6Balls from this site for an event and then sat at the dealership for a year. I got an awesome deal on it due to the fact it had a whopping 14 hrs on it. I didn't even have to go through the agonizing engine break in.

I can't wait to see what it looks like with my new bright red 2006 F150 hooked up to it when it comes in the end of the month.

Does the 209 have the same winshield???
It follows the same patter of going 3 piece in 2004 and beyond.

I don't remember much ever being said about it chaning in 2004. You'd think it would be a big enough deal to mention in the 04 WS buyer's guide. Mmm.

Then again, at the boat show my dealer tells me you can get side exhaust on the XStar now. Where's the press?
