We're looking at Havasu in March, Air temps get up pretty early out there and it's only about a 4.5 hour drive for us. I think the water temps will still be pretty cold, but I'm guessing they stay pretty cold year round since it is on the Colorado.

Later,

Matt

There's always plenty of Maker's in the boat Pirate, but we try not to ski on Sinclair too much....to many stumps, 3 eyed homer simpson fish, and Georgia College toothless wonders in Rebel Flag bikini's. We stick to Oconee in the early season and Lanier and Burton in the late season. Come out a do some skiing in March...you'll be o.k.

Reminds me of the end of the Beach Boys music video for "Getcha Back" where the guy is inside the 6 foot dia beach ball made of clear plastic and he is walking it around on the water. Maybe we could install some things like dry suit seals on the bottom of the ball so I could stick my feet through it and put them in my ski bindins. ;) just kiddin'

We consider the "official" start of the new season to be March 1. So this weekend was officially the start of the 2006 season for us. Skied (like s**t :() Saturday and Sunday. Guess all of my winter skiing didn't help much. Oh well it was a beautiful weekend the skiing just got off to a rough start.

Oh, Air about 70 and water 62-67 depending on where you were in the lake. I wore my drysuit (big wimp) ski partner was in a shorty.

Brian, I'm sure it was the lack of MTS. Weight that new boat of yours and all will be right with the world. ;)

Actually it was probably because we didn't ski behind my boat ;) Saturday we skied behind a Malibu Sportster (I skied OK Saturday) no complaints about the boat as I usually ski awsome behind it. Sunday we skied behind the barge 8p '97 205. Although not my favorite boat in the club to ski behind (my favorites are my '97 190 followed closely by the '01 Bu Sportster) we had problems with the Perfect Pass (old Plus System) coming in really hot and then dropping speed suddenly at about 2 ball so we then ended up driving manual and since none of us are used to driving manual that wasn't a whole lot better.. Not the best for early season sets. Oh well. Did I mention it was a beautiful day to be on the water?

I got out on Sat. and Sun.!!!!! We put the course in and skied right after that. The water is around low 40's and the air was high 60's, not bad for this time of year. I went right into the course at 22 off and then had to shorten to 28 and that was much better. Played around with the new PP display and I'll be able to get used to it but, I think they could have done much better.

That's great that he still can foot at 72...

I think my wife has one of he & I gonig double long-line. I'll see if I can find it.

It really is funny though. His wife thinks he mostly tricks anymore, and only barefoots on rare occasions. When, he mostly foots & only tricks when he can't foot for some reason.

And - when it's his turn, he'll get on top of the water, foot for a while, then ask you to turn around to head back to the board. At his age, we don't give him any cr@p for starting off of a kneeboard, especially since he requires us to pull him back through our own rollers. When he does, he likes to foot the whole way back to where he dropped the board. I sure whish I can do that when I'm his age.

Ohh - and did I mention he got a pacemaker installed 3 years ago?

Today was day number 1 for us. ~55-60 deg air, 45 deg water. We just made the 100 degree rule. :eek3:

Best part, was after my wife got back in the boat, our 3 year old really wanted to go. We told her the water was too cold, but she could put her feet in. She was only on the swim platform for less than 1 minute before she was done. It really broke my heart. Maybe next time, the air will be a little warmer.

That's my original "RAM" mirror mount. Better one on order. Just haven't removed it. I may leave it for a 3 mirror setup.

Ric, I actually had two people up there (only one while we had a skier in tow though). No sudden moves on the driver's part. 8p Made the wake a little firm for my taste.

Technically this will be my third time out this year, but I don't consider one time each in Jan and Feb the start of the season. Hopefully today will truly mark that. I only have 2 weeks to "tune up" before leaving for 7 days of Florida skiing.

I didn't think anything would stop you guys.... Especially a little wind, rain, and the occasional snow flurry.

Had the boat out on Wednesday for a few hours for the first time this year. I think it runs better every year. Water is still about 50, so that's a little chilly for my blood.

Good deal Too-tall, glad you like it. Can't wait to ride in it again in three weeks. How did you like the wake?

We rode yesterday also but the air was only 48...and the water was 44.
We still had a great time...landed my first air front.
72 deree water had to be nice.

I'll be sending my bill for a finders fee, or maybe when I get a few pulls we can call it even.

Congrats!

My season was going to start today, at least a cruise around the lake to blow the cobwebs out of the thing but it is raining here so i guess that will have to wait. The water is still a little chilly for anything other than cruising around but by the end of the month (april) it will be ready to go.

Nice..great job on the air front.
My LE38 rode really, really good.it had alittle more lift them my old ski I liked it and it did not suck down or glitch as much as my old ski.
I have to admit i was nervous yesterday morning there was alot on the line, new boat, new ski,but everything worked out way better then I thought.

Bring on summer!!!!

Season did start on April 1....how appropriate....

Air temp was around 42F, water temp around 38F.....3 of us in the boat each took 2 passes footin' on the long line....Felt pretty good minus the initial ice-cream headache when you first meet the water...

Went and got my boat out of storage today and replaced it with the winter toys. Will spend next weekend readying it for the season.

My 6year old and 3 year old spent about 10minutes sitting in it while I was re-arranging the garage. :D

I plan on putting the boat on the lift this week.

Spring is nuts for me. I would have done it a few weeks ago, but I am out of town 6 weekends in a row this time of year.

It all ends next week, when I will take my 12 year old to Key Largo for a scuba diving trip (he is getting certified this week).

Yeee hawwww......the season hath begun!

You should have seen my barefoot digger...The wife pulled me the lenght of the lake and it was just too nice..i gave her the spin me signal and she whipped me accross both wakes into the chop. I 3 pointed around the curve and she brought me back through the wakes. I got brave and tried to stand up and run through the 197 wakes(read the report-they suck) and did about 4 front handsprings. you know the kind where your feet hit that back of your head. I got in the boat and the girl riding said, "wow that was cool...are you going again..." I DECLINED!

Shush Boys...I'm very envious right now! I dream I am skiing at night. Kicked my other half a few times...oops...can't ski in the day, might as well dream of it I guess! B

Time to put the kids to bed and for me to go ski in my sleep...hmm maybe I'll do my 22 off pass tonight.

Now we're ready !! A few quality hours with Collinites #845 insulator wax, Meguiar's Vinyl Cleaner/Protector (i know, i gotta buy 303 when I run out of this stuff).

The ice went out 1 week ago, weather is HORRIBLE. Water temp should be still in 30's. Rain/snow mix today. BUT, clock is ticking. PUMPED UP !!!

I know that if I had my boat sitting in my garage where I could see it on a daily basis (your boat is gorgeous by the way!) I'd be in a worse state than I'm in now. (Found the cryin smilie!)

Thanks.... nothing like the labor of love prepping for the start of the season! Luckily the boat is up at Pop's spare garage near the lake so I don't have to be tortured on a daily basis. I miss her, but she's a safe distance from regularly moving vehicles, kids with bikes and light sabres etc...... She'll be rolling out soon !
