as unscientific as schnitz's poll may be, it will be fun to bump it with some actual skiers and owners so everyone please pay him a visit

nautique will obviously win, its the most widely used boat by hard core slalom skiers at private ski lakes . and thats the type of skiers that visit his site. now, nobody say why dont you buy a nautique then.

some guy wrote schnitz about being cheated out of an alligator naming contest by a computer wiz.
What will come of the prefferred towboat contest?
How long did the babblyboo crew take to jump onto my link here and pass the word?
What was I doing in Utah this morning?

I Ski all three often(40% bu, 40% SN, 20%MC) as well. I start at 28 or 32 off and course ski 99% of the time. I won't turn down rides behind any of them but, my preference is RLXi, SN196 and MC197 to drive and ski. I hope MC got a handle on all the electronic handshaking between their "throttle by wire" and PP. The (2)TT197's in my area had terrible problems last year making an otherwise good boat, a disaster. The new gear reduction was a good improvement and I hear the rudder is larger for '06 and that's a good thing. As was earlier said, all three will pull me to my limits and beyond.

im sure that schnitz intention for this poll was guided towards course skiers. now the numbers are obviously skewed. my predication of nautique winning will only happen when then planet nautique guys go on there and vote a bunch of times
the reason why i believe nautique ( and i maybe be wrong ) would have won is becuase if you look at the most used brand boat at ski lakes , it's usually nautique. obviously i havent been to all the lakes in the country , but it has been my obsevation so far. for exapmle at my lake out of 50 members ( 50 boats ) there are more nautiques used then anything else.its probaly because its a no frill great slalom boat. they never take thier boats out on public water .

twieder
01-17-2006, 03:13 PM
The river I use is probably 70% cc 25% mc and 5% "other" when it comes to ski and board boats.I'm only the 3rd person at my campground that owns a mc! (1 196,1x-9, and my x-star)
I'm hoping that will change come spring though. I've got 2 friends that are lookin to upgrade from late 80's cc to somethin newer, and after riding behind mine, both have opened up their "options" as to what they get.
I guess with anything, people have a prefferance(ford vs. gm),but
when a better boat comes along, atleast they keep an open mind.

I've never slalomed behind a nautique that doesn't have that annoying lip that gets you squirelly while crossing the wake. I love mastercrafts because I think only about my entrance rather than what is going to happen crossing the wake.

rodltg2
01-17-2006, 08:44 PM
what entrance? entrance gates?

The truth is coming out.

skitilldark
01-17-2006, 09:27 PM
Entering my turn. I'm not that great a slalom skier so I have to really concentrate as I'm crossing the wake not to pull too hard and get slack in the rope as I turn. When I hit that correctcraft wake, I'm more worried about keeping the ski tip down than when to let off the pull. So I end up getting across the wake okay but I had to pull so hard to keep the ski in the water that I end up with a lot of slack at the turn. Again, I'm no pro!

I'd say CC is the hardcore slalom boat , but not by much. the wake behind a 196 is softer then the others , but when you ski the course their is no real difference between BU,MC, & CC ,it is just personal taste! :) It is like looking at 3 gorgeous women (you would be happy with any of them)! :D
