That seems like a good deal. 2 years old, still looks good. I wonder how many hours. Probably close to 200.

IMO, the X2's are tough to beat. I'm a fan.

Is that a red speaker box above the bimini?

2004 MASTERCRAFT X2 20' 6" 2004 MasterCraft X2 ? The best selling, most decorated wakeboard boat in the history of the sport. The same boat that has pulled the X Games Pro Tour since day one: the boat that Parks Bonifay rode to multiple MasterCraft Tour and X Games titles; the boat that has sent junior riders to the pro level, and given every rider who ever dreamed of landing his first invert at least a fighting chance, thanks to a set of wakes with a supple transition to a meaty wake. Right on up through a lip that gives the right amount of kick without a hint of breaking loose at the top!Complete with a custom Alpine stereo system; including 3 Alpine V12 Amps, 4 Alpine S Series 2 way tower speakers in a custom color matched box, JL WO 12? Sub and a two battery/switched set-up. This boat is a one of a kind ? she is solid red (all three hull pieces, in and out!), custom matched interior colors and front and rear fog light/light bar. ONLY 90 hours, always dry stacked, original owner, never left in the water and in mint condition. All service records, boat cover, 2 bimini covers, wakeboard racks, 3 ballast system, removable color matched fiberglass ski deck/swim platform, all Coast Guard required safety equipment, transferable warranty, upgraded MasterCraft paint matched tandem trailer w/polished wheels included. Also registered through 2007. WAKE UP this is not a dream. Paid $55,000 in July of 2004 and MUST SELL for ONLY? $40,000.00 FIRM($5000 less than current market value).

90 hours AND all those extras. THAT IS A STEAL (if the boat is, in fact, in good shape) I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Where is it located?

The pictures look nice, I like the amp setup that he has under the observer seat. Also, the red fiberglass in the interior really stands out against the white seats.

Could the lower price because of the engine package that it has? Will that 310hp be enough to push that boat around with full ballast?

I couldn't even if I wanted to. A very nice boat though. I hope your friend gets it - I'm sure he'll love it.

I didn't mean to come off wrong w/ that statement.

Last summer, I spent the day on an X9 with the MCX engine. It was Chicago MC's demo boat, and when I got to talking with the mechanic (driver) he seemed to recommend very strongly that the X9 and bigger X boats really performed much better and needed the extra HP. I haven't been in one w/ the 310, so I am just going off of what he said.
I will state though that the X9 w/ MCX had enough power to pull up double long line deep barefooters and the engine wasn't even broken in yet.

Guess you'll find out during the test ski/ride/drive.

My 05' X-2 has the 350HP in it, and I was told when I bought it that it was overkill for a boat this size. I would think that engine would not be an option if MC thought that it could not do the job. Plus I think that is the same powerplant that was used in the original (2000 and 2001?) versions of the same hull design. Maybe Jim could shed some light on the subject.

Beautiful Boat!!!! To get a better deal, you will have to sacrifice either more hours or older boat, IMO.

Do you plan on "needing" the power to "pull up double long line deep barefooters"? If not, there is no reason to fret. 310 HP is more than enough to do the trick. These are MasterCraft boats - MasterCraft does NOT put crap in a MasterCraft.

I say all this and we bought a MariStar with the MCX 350.

i imagine it will only be used for wakeboarding. so it should be good.

I don't want to jack the thread, but IMO M/C does "allow" boats to be ordered underpowered ... just ask my local dealer who is (was at the start of winter) sitting on a used X45 with the MCX.

It's not crap, just underpowered ... as for the 04' X-2, thats a smaller boat so I it would probably be fine.

I run a heavily weighted 2001 X-Star (X-2) with the 310hp engine. I dropped prop pitch and she pulls just fine.
