Fine by me. But don't you think you're being just the least bit overly sensitive to something that's rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things?

Nope......(Insert smilie sticking his tongue out);)

I'll add that it's all pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

I don't care if it stays or goes. But if it's work for someone to remove it, I'm not going to ask or vote "yes" at the risk of creating work for someone else.

Sort of like walking into a house that's being built and pointing out problems (and you're not the one they're building it for).

Okay, I'll just respond by saying read my previous post. Let them work on getting MC towels in the pro shop. Don't waste MC's time with this unless it amounts to no more than a click of the button.

You're just mad because Erk didn't make a creepy collage of you when you hit 2,359, right? :o

If the post counts were removed, us newbies wouldn't know the hierarchy of the forum. And, based on that, we wouldn't know who is giving good info vs. bogus info. I've seen how you guy chase of bogus posters, and I appreciate it. Hope that makes more sense to you than it does to me. Don't know what I just wrote, but I know what I meant to write, if ya know what I mean.

I would agree some posts are a joke! Easty has earned all 10k. Most have posts like Wow, I agree, holy cow and you the man! No offense Mag :D . I am kidding! Easty always posts! He posts and does not simply respond. That being said some of us say way too much (me). Keep the posts, counts and usage. Very cool to know who has been around and who still has the MC blood pumping in their veins! Most of us begin stronger than we finish. Easty is in a marathon and has not even hit stride.
See yah!

There is a ton of useful info on this site....that's why I've visited it regularly for the past 3 years going back to the old site. That being said, I believe there is a high level of threadjacking and random non-value add posts. Makes it more difficult to get to the useful info.

The old site was actually better in terms of on-topic discussion and useful info. I'm thinking about all the old JimN threads that really helped me better understand my boat.

There's nothing wrong with the off-topic discussion, and posters on this site are very good about starting those threads in the right areas...but the off-topic discussion outweighs the on-topic by about 10 to 1, and much of it is pointless "thanks man"..."nice"..."wow". But, I'm gonna keep reading it all anyway, and I can't say I've minded some of the off-topic stuff....a certain swimsuit thread comes to mind.

That's just my opinion.

If the post counts were removed, us newbies wouldn't know the hierarchy of the forum.

I understand the concept. HOWEVER, for some reason, on this site, the GOAL to get more COMPLETELY eliminates its usefulness. IMO.
I don't even think about it, until post after post, and thread after thread are About this "ranking" number only. IN THEORY, the counter works, but IMO only in theory.
Whatever, I didn't "mean" to make a big stink about it, but ENOUGH already. Seems it has been blown out of proportion more than ever just in the last week or so.

Maybe, these "rankings" should only be visible to newbies or visitors... If that were an option.;)

I usually stay out of stuff like this (see my post count) but I feel compelled to comment when the number of posts you have starts to be equated with your knowledge and dedication to these wonderful boats. I have gotten lots of excellent info. on this board, and it has come from members with a wide range of post counts. Just because some don't feel the need to "chime in" on various topics does not mean they are not well-read; they just choose to participate to a different degree when they feel that what they have to say is relevant to the discussion. Having said this, post counts are fun and do give a representation of how each member handles themselves on this board, but let's not attach too much relevance to them. I hope this doesn't offend , as it is not intended as a condemnation of any policies or practices on this board. Hierarchy can and should be determined by the respect we show each other, and what we do to help one another, not by how often we comment on what's going on.

It's a counter, no more no less, people quickly know who has great info and who posts on Off Topic most (guilty). But regardless the count does show a dedication to MasterCraft and the MasterCraft owners. Even if you spend a lot of time in Off Topic, I still read all threads and pick up great info, how to's etc. I'm sorry, but don't think I could take all day sanding my teak or winterizing, but I know where that info is and use it when needed.

Let's face it this group is competitive in probably anything we do! :D

It's all about perception. I agree with what you say. However, it "appears" that the heavy users here know more about their boats, have done more research, and tend to back up a lot of what they say with facts (attached links, pics, etc.) than most new people. If new people have the knowledge, they should chime in (IMO).

Post Hos I tell ya'. :D

People like to hear themselves talk. Not that that is wrong.

Counts mean nothing, from those that have them as well as those that track them.

Then with that goes the reputation status. It all ties together with vBulletin's functions.... LOL...

Finally W4T has brought this to the table. :woohoo: :headbang:

And we finally got one more smiley to the limit.... Yeah boy!!!!
