Rusty Malinoski, one of the world’s top professional wakeboarders who is fresh off a year in which he won just about every major event, started 2006 off right by signing a new deal with MasterCraft that places him on the top wakeboard team. This new, three-year relationship adds Rusty to an elite roster of MasterCraft athletes, including Parks and Shane Bonifay, Zane Schwenk and Andrew Adkison.

Of course, getting to ride and train behind a customized X-Star (http://www.mastercraft.com/index.php?znfAction=viewDab&series=x&boat=xstar.06) is simply icing on the cake and definitely will give me an edge for future competitions.”

MasterCraft, which pulls the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour (http://www.prowakeboardtour.com/index.jsp), X Games (http://expn.go.com/expn/index), Wakeboard World Cup (http://www.iwsfworldcup.com/) and IWSF World Championships (http://www.iwsf.com), is equally excited to have Malinoski on its team -- especially in such a competitive environment. “Someone like Rusty is so valuable to our industry because he is the whole package – he is an innovative, impressive rider plus he is highly respected for his amiable personality, approachability and work ethic,” says Aarne Clow, team and event manager for MasterCraft. “As the sport evolves and gains more notoriety, it is crucial to have athletes that not only represent sponsors favorably behind the boat, but in front of the public as well. Rusty -- like Zane and Andrew -- are the new standard for the sport of wakeboarding.”

http://www.tmcowners.com/photopost/data/559/Rusty_2.jpgMatt Hickman, editor of WakeBoarding Magazine (http://www.wakeboardingmag.com) agrees. “"We no longer need to rely on first-generation riders to carry the torch alone,” comments Hickman. “There is a new crop of riding talent that's ready for harvest, and MasterCraft has once again seized the moment by adding Rusty Malinoski to their roster of first-class talent. Rusty understands what it takes to fill the shoes of a high-profile athlete in relations with the consumer and as a representative of a top notch manufacturer such as MasterCraft."
