I did in the same week last year. For Texas, that's a pretty good accomplishment. Since I'm going in early February this year, I don't see it happening. Could be wrong considering the weather we've been having.

What's your plan rod? Ski at home and then drive up to the mountains to snowski? How long is the drive?

We normally take a ski trip in March around Spring Break. Depending on the weather here in AR it could be done in the same week. But probably not same day b/c we drive to the mountains. I don't think we could make it back in time to hit the water.

We're coming out on the 14th. I don't remember the flight. But, we fly into Sacramento. Then we were going to drive to South Lake Tahoe and spend 3 nights. Then we move to Truckee for a couple more nights and return from Sacramento on the 19th. We plan on skiing Heavenly and Squaw.

No Northstar(flatstar)? I worked there for a season as a lift operator and really enjoyed it though. I also loved living in Truckee. Met some really interesting people

Did it once here in MD. Water was quite chilly, but air temp was ~60 - 65 deg.It sure was awesome to say that we did it!

No, those and Mt Rose are my favorites. Since we are not going to Reno we are skipping Mt Rose.

Easily done in Seattle since the snowski areas are less than an hour away from Sammamish.

rodltg2,
It has been a Mother's Day tradition for our family for many years. We snow ski first and then head to the lake. It's about a 45 minute drive between the two sites. Spring snow skiing in tee shirts is great. Then you bundle up for waterskiing in a dry suit.

I don't know if they still do it, but Lake Tahoe use to have a deal, which I did once(that was enough), where you buy a ticked that was good for half a day lift ticket, and the other half of the day they take you water skiing. That was before I had a dry suit. It was fun though.

I did two years ago... turned out to be a bad move. I snowboarded in the morning and went skiing in the afternoon. The problem was when I decided to barefoot and torn the meniscus in my knee!!

Ouch, how did it heal, any side effects? My middle son had surgery 12/8, meniscus tear from soccer and is already playing soccer again.

It is on my list of things to do this spring. Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (Lee Canyon) to us old timers is 45 minutes from my house. Lake Mead (Calville Bay marina) is, well, 45 minutes from my house. Just need to get some snow in the mountains. It has been way too warm and dry out here in the desert!

My friend is an advid snowboarder in the winter, so he always has the snowboard magazines with him. I saw this article for a board company, a guy did this huge board slide down a hand rail. The Stairs went down to a lake, and The guy rode off the rail and rode into the lake. It would have been really cool to see him grab a handle and take a pass or two!

Back in the day, I surfed in the morning, water skied at lunch time, and snow boarded at night. Boy I slept good that night!
