We're on a river too and it works good. Not sure how well it would work on a lake with all the chop.I've got a bud that got a place on Hamilton lake in N.W. Indiana we're gonna try come warm weather.

and this is my ballast system on a ProStar 195... :purplaugh I actually named the family Fat Sack 1, Fat Sack 2, etc. Way better than having to fill the ballast and fairly easy to get them to move from the right to the left side once properly trained. :D

It's pretty popular here as well. I'm thinking about getting one. Do you guys/gals use a regular surfboard, or do you use the ones they make for wake surfing? It just seems that I could pick up a used surfboard cheaper than the ones seen advertised in Wakeboard Mag.

Thanks,
Byrdman

We do it when the water gets rough and we are tired from everything else. No matter how rough the lakes get, it is always smooth 2 feet from the platform. As you progress, which is quickly, you can let yourself back off the platform and return to the platform without ever getting wet.
We just learned this past summer and bought a CWB board that was a bit shorter and grew into it. It was a bit harder to learn on, but once you've done it a few times on a longer board, you'll want to progress to a smaller one, so just buy the smaller one and take your lumps for a few times out. (Unless your made of money cause they ain't cheap.)

A friend of mine had a wind surf board we tried and failed misserably. It was too long for the wake. We even tried it with 2 people on the board with no luck, but had a blast tryin. We got about 350 in our board so it's not cheep, but it was alot cheeper than my kids wake board! Do you have poroblems with the law settin up on the sides or not?

If you're talking about the kids sitting on the side of the boat, we haven't had any problems yet. Is there a law as to where you can sit on a boat?

Here in Ohio everyone has to be settin inside the boat when ever it's in motion.Legaly we can't sit on sides or engine cover/sun pad but sofar ODNR or county sheriff has'nt busted anyone . They watch think they are jelious!
