Anyone care to share the fit, finish and function of the mirror they're using. PO broke the original that came with my boat so I'm researching. I really like the Samson Extreme 3, but it is a little on the high end $$$. Let's hear what you have and the pros/cons. thanks

Steak,

That mirror looks like a Cipa extreme with a Sampson billet alum. tower arm mount. A lot of folks have transitioned over to the PTM edge mirror and speak highly of their product. It's my current mirror as well. It's pricey but the field of view is absolutely stellar.

I might suggest doing a quick thread search for reviews of the PTM mirror from fellow TT'ers. Here's the link to their home page: http://www.ptmedge.com

Happy holidays.

I switched to the PTM Edge VR140 Pro this year and I LOVE it. Worth the CHA-CHING!! One nice thing is that if you scratch the mirror lens, they have replacement lenses that are very affordable. You won't regret this purchase.

I was wondering the same thing since CIPA is clearly printed on the back of the mirror. How are PTM's mirror arms? They kinda look like the $70 knock offs on ebay.

The PTM has a knuckle that mounts on the MC tower arm. Then it's a an easy adjustment knob from there. It took a couple of minutes to switch the mirrors out. If you don't have a MC arm, find one. There was one on here for $75 awhile back. I bought my complete tower mirror from a tt member for a fair price. So glad I didn't skimp on this option. One more thing I like about the PTM is that I can see my rider/skier the whole time without adjusting my noggin and it's crystal clear.

I bought the CIPA extreme to go on the arm that I already had for my tower. Problem is that my arm had a circular rod as the mount point and my mirror was made to clamp onto a windso I took a 1" hunk of aluminum and drilled down through the middle to fit the arm. Tapped 4 holes for set screws and then clamped that onto the mirror. The result is a great mirror adapted to my existing arm.

PTM was a birthday present from the wife last year. Outstanding product. If it broke tomorrow I'd buy another.

WOW! The field of vision is huge. Thanks for the pics. Pretty strong consensus here.

Check out the CIPA 180 as well. It's quite a bit cheaper than the PTM. I have the PTM and am very happy with it but had the CIPA 180 been around when I bought mine, it would have gotten strong consideration.

So I won an ebay auction for a Samson Sports mirror arm w/ the CIPA Exteme 3 mirror. My offer was accepted for $40 + $20 shipping. It did not come with the tower mount which will set me back another $65 buying through Samson direct. I'm in the hole for $105 total and am thinking about selling the mirror ($30 + shipping) to upgrade with PTM 140 or CIPA 180. What are the major beni's the PTM has over the CIPA?

I didn't see if CIPA has replacement lenses available. ? Nice field of vision with both models.

Good point! One thing to think about is the cost of the PTM replacement lens is about the same price for a whole new CIPA 180 ($55 free shipping on Amazon). However, there is a huge price difference between these products and I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for. The question to ask about this, is the juice worth the squeeze?

Nice find. I'm looking for something with an increased viewing angle. I have a C5-C6 fusion in my neck from wrestling in college which causes me pain to look back often.

I have the CIPA 180 and like it much more than the CIPA extreme. The 180 causes the images to be a little smaller than normal but I couldn't justify the price of PTM (I'm broke!). CIPA extreme is great for wide view but the break in lenses causes an annoying gap which made he shift back/forth more than normal.
