I know there are/were some vette fans here.

Now I am more impressed than ever. I just finished reading an article in the U.S.A. today about the new Z06.
A 7 liter 505 HP 475Ft/lb V8. Carbon fiber body panels, aluminum frame, 22 cubic feet of storage, 26MPG highway, 6 speed tranny, 0-60 in 3.7 (without shifting from 1st) stability control, traction control, both of which operate independently and can be turned on and off indep., MP3 player, auto headlights(sorry I love that feature), and weighs in at 3,130.

Article says Z06 buyers are 35-55 year old married men with median household annual incomes of $135K

Making 5000 of them a year.

I love Corvettes, but think that will have to be my 50's mid life crisis crutch! I'm pretty well covered through the 40's mid-life crisis.

It also smokes most everything else out there, even at twice the price.

I agree Leroy, but I'm just 28. I have a ways to go before I have a 40's or even 50's mid-life crisis.

Wonder what a used one will go for in 10+ years? :)

Is it me, or would this thing compliment my MC. I can see me in one, silver with a blue rally stripe up the middle.
Listed starting price $66,000 but they expect people will have to pay $10K over window sticker for a new one.
I remember drolling through the window at the dealership here a few years ago when they had a ZR1 in the showroom roped off. It went for $110,000, I wonder what that one is going for used now.....

It would look great next to a MC!

When was the last year for the ZR1? A 1990 with 100K miles in excellent condition on KBB is $16535. Roughly $6200/year depreciation!
A 1995 with 100K miles is around $26K. These are both private party values.
It looks like the ZR1 was built from 1990 to 1995. ICBW.

I was picking up a snowmobile a few weeks ago in IL and a guy pulled in with a new red Z06. In my opinion Corvettes are decent looking cars..........but his car was BAD AZZ!!! According to the dealer this guy races Corvettes. If I were in the market for a 500h.p. car I would be considering the new BMW M5 seeing as it is a little more practical as a daily driver :uglyhamme

Dat, A daily driver? I am not sure if I could imagine cruising it everyday. It would be more a treat for weekends and evenings. If I could swing the $80K on a car, I would hope I could keep a decent commuter.
Then again, It would without a doubt be a regular at the 1/4 mile track up the road.:D

Any chance you need someone to come and burn some of that old fuel out of them once in awhile. And they may need their legs stretched. And I happen to be available anytime, anyplace....;)

I can't even imagine how fast this new Vette is. I have had a few Z06's through my car dealership over the last year and have really enjoyed them. Even the old Z06 is stupid fast. I could hit 70mph in second gear !! We had a red one and a black one, but this one was my favorite.....just because it was a unique color.
