As a general rule, I don't drink lite beer (not that I turn it down either). Usually, if I'm going for quantity over quality, I'm with Lone Star (National Beer of Texas) or Original Coors.

Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout, Oatmeal Stout, or Nutbrown Ale

New Belgium Brewing Co.'s Fat Tire or 1554 Belgian Black

Dos X Amber, Bohemia, Negra Modelo

east tx skier

Define normal? If you mean, what I drink on a regular basis, the answer lately is Dos X Amber w/ Lime, Shiner Bock, or Fat Tire.

bradamerry
07-29-2004, 03:28 PM
FAT TIRE, what the he!! is that??

east tx skier
07-29-2004, 03:47 PM
Fat Tire is a beer brewed by the New Belgium Brewing Co. of Ft. Collins, CO. Because they are a small brewery with limited output (and from what I've read, intend to keep it that way), it is only available in certain states. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get it in Louisiana since Texas is basically drowning in the stuff these days.

IMHO, most of the Big 10 schools could tailgate any other conference under the table.

I for one wouldn't know what to do without MSU football in the fall. It gets so bad that my wife will not talk to me during a game day. You must have played against Tony Banks and Tico Ducket if you played during the early Nineties. IU had a pretty good run in the late 80's...too bad the wheels kind of came off after Anthony Thompson's era.

I have both good and bad memories of Mich. State. Walked away with the Brass Spittoon once and ended my football career the next time. We had good years in the early 90's. Peach Bowl '90, Copper Bowl '91, Independence Bowl '93. Wheels came off when they fired Mallory. By the way, who's drink'n? I gotta have a beer!!!

Let's start a football thread in the fall! Can't wait.

Awesome avatar H2Oskeefreek. I look forward The Bucket game every year. I go no matter where its at. I know that IU's current record against PU is pretty poor. But, we won 4 out of 5 years I was playing.

Stevo, I'm parked down at Pinecrest. I'm renting a lift for the summer. This is my first year on the lake. I got to admit that we mainly cruise around on week nights and the occassional quiet weekend (yeah right). I have seen you out once or twice. Nice ride. We'll have to set up a time and place to meet. If your out on the lake this weekend, I have the Maristar with the customer Red and Black cover at Pinecrest. Check out the SS exhaust if you have a chance.

I love this forum.

Smitty,
First of all, great looking boat! my son noticed the exhaust right away when we stopped by the marina. We rented there for two seasons until my brother in law bought a place on the lake. Now I get the brother in law special and keep my own lift there. I would like to put a course in next year and am looking for fellow skiers to share. It will need to be the sinking type because you know how crazy it gets out there! There is only one course on the lake and it is an accusink. They ski very early and sink it and don't seem to be very interested in new friends. My 93 S&S is at Expert for a full off trailer buff and detail so I am having withdrawal right now. Will you be out this weekend?

Smitty
07-30-2004, 11:07 PM
Sorry about the withdrawl. I sent my Dad's '84 American Skier to Expert last year and was very impressed with the results. You will be very happy when you get it back. As for the weekend, it is up in the air as to when we will get out. We have a birthday party next door for the kids to attend. Their having a Dino Jump! Most likely late in afternoon or early evening for a cruise. Does your brother also have a Mastercraft? I think I know where you store your boat. By the way, is the water safe to go in to?

Feel free to stop by anytime when you see us out there.

08-02-2004, 11:45 AM
You like those BUT ugly uniforms too....

Actually I am not a fan at all... All the football games do here is bring in TOO many people who have too much money and are a bunch of rude drunks... Grew up here, and you could walk in, get a ticket and enjoy some football.. Now its all sold out to the Californians who moved here and took over.. Over 50% of all reserved seats are purchased by people living in Portland ( over 100 miles away) ..

Its not about football anymore, its all about money...

Some trivia... The duck coach, Belotti, got divorced last year. Too many people trying to protect him to hear the real story..

The EX Mrs. Belotti, was caught in the back of a police car with their neighbor ( a cop) BUCK nekkid, in a park, doing the wild monkey dance..... Didnt read that one in the paper did you.....

Thanks Stevo for the comments. Sorry if I seemed a bit out of it last night. I spent the entire weekend catching up on the "honey do" list and I was exhausted. The great thing about that boat is that I spent half as much as a new one and as you can tell, that boat looks pretty new.
Not to complain, but the price on new boats is getting out of control. Out of the big 3 competitors, Mastercraft has priced themselves somewhere in the middle. Correct Craft made a huge jump with the 226 pricing around $75K while Malibu is keeping the 23 VLS at around $45K. At about $60K for a new Maristar, I'm quite happy with what I got.

And, Kudos to all you College Football Fans.
Is it Friday yet? I need a beer!
