I love Cobles! Went there for a single day last year and got coaching from both Chris Eller and April. Went back this past Spring for an entire week. Got pb's in the course both times. All the instructors are hand picked by April and her family, so all are highly qualified & have good coaching skills. It is a great low pressure, camp-like atmosphere. If this is what you're looking for, I highly recommend it. I will definitely be going back again next year.

Edit: LINK (http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1918) to a great report on Coble's on the 'Bu Crew site.

OK, Who read the forum over on the BU website that was referenced? What's this crap about "Those Mastercrafts have ZERO punch out of the hole" I have a buddy with a BU and he took a few sets behind my 197 last year, I asked him how he wanted to be pulled up, he said "just give it the nutz" so I did, First time... He caughed up the rope it came flying back at the boat and nailed my wife's knee. (we now have a shock tube) He's been skiing for years, and he says "can't remember the last time I didn't get up on the start, I wasn't ready for that holeshot"

How about a few more of these stories to boost our MC ego's!

Oh, by the way... it's FRIDAY! :friday:

COBLE Ski School is a CLASS ACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April, Chris, Shirley, Gary and Staff are the best in the industry, beautiful facility and of course the MasterCraft Boats!
Our daughter skied with April on the UNC Chapel Hill Collegiate Ski Team from '91 to '95 and saw and or were with the Cobles everywhere in the SE and you will not find a better bunch of people.

I've never been to the Coble Ski School, but I've always wanted to. I have talked with April and her dad at a few of the boat shows, and she really is an exceptionally nice person. BTW, she's expecting her second child sometime in June.

Silly question, but I have to know....
The lake that is utilized by Cobles..does it have gators/crocs in it? I have a big fear of those things, I give anyone credit that skis in a lake where they are present, you are better than me!!!

I am from that part of NC. Most gators are near the coastal areas.

NO, NO, their facility is at a old quarry site near Lillington, NC, about a hour from RALEIGH, in the central southeast part of the state, far from anything but the normal critters you have in your back or front yard. They have several lakes for several watersports activities at once and several MasterCrafts.

Go to their website www.cobleskischool.com and you can see for yourself!

I just thought I'd bump this thread with a report from Coble's. I just got back from taking my family to the ski school for spring break. It was far and away the best ski school experience I've ever had!!! The atmosphere is perfect for beginners and "seasoned" alike. While we were there, there were two girls that went from never skiing to ready to drop one, three people went from two up skiing to getting up on one and attacking the mini course, a couple of wakeboarders, and myself.

Adam, the wakeboard coach is one of the most patient, observant coaches I've seen. He took a personal interest in seeing that my son had the basic skills to build from. My daughter had the previledge of being coached by none other than April Coble-Eller. She was able to go from deep water starts every third try to completing the training course at 22MPH.

I was coached by Chris Eller. Great guy!!! He was able to relay his suggestions in a language that even I can understand. He also does a majority of the maintanence of the boats. I enjoyed talking to him about some th elate model MC issues. Here's a thing I picked up.....he told me John Dorton brought a bunch of engineers into a meeting about one of the persistant warrenty issues and told them to have a complete solution by weeks end or they were all fired!!!

These people are the absolute best.
The atmosphere was one of setting your goals and pushing yourself to achieve them. It was very healthy. The accomodations were great!! Just bring your suit, stick, towels, and most importantly gloves!!! My hands are like hamburger right now.

Sorry to sound like an advertisment, but it was a great experience!!! and I just wanted to share it with ya'll.

Later

April Coble is really awesome. She knows her stuff. You will learn more than you thought you needed to know when it is all over. I knew April personally back in the late 80s. Her family doesnt mess around.
