1979 S&S… Just wondering what y'all would recommend using to repair cracks and broken pieces in the forward L-Shaped observation seating platform.

Was thinking of polyresin and some glass, but not sure what material the housing is made from. While you may see a crack or two and a broken piece or so, I should say that there are quite a number of cracks throughout.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, y'all!

I'm sure the MCOCD guys will have lots of suggestions, but don't forget Marinetex. simple to use and quick. I used it to reinforce a lot of cracks and breaks in the plastic on the vent/cupholder on engine cover. My repairs were all from the backside. Maybe it will work for some of yours.
BTW, we must be close to one another on Lake Austin. I've probably seen that dock and boat.

Hope to see you both on Lake Austin. I'll be in the Gray and Blue MC Outboard

I would recommend doing some serious glass work from the inside. That way you could hopefully put that broken piece back in, and then just smooth the visible surface.

Searched with less than 10 clicks...

Read here (http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=35541) and this should give you an idea of where to start. That should be an easy project, even the missing section. Nothing a little cloth, resin, and sand paper won't take care of. I have also heard good things about Marinetex....

Here's another rebuild that should give you an idea or a solution. (http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=58537). This one took four clicks... :)

Spectrum also has some small patch kits that may be of interest. I am getting ready to use one on a small ding for another machine.

Well, not sure how much more my boat will be on Lake Austin. I was launching at that Steiner Ranch launch. My brother lives in S. Ranch but is now selling his house and moving to Houston.

I haven't been out there for a long time, though. Started doing repairs last year and just haven't had time to complete everything. Hoping to get it all done before the end of the summer so I can get back out there.

I am fairly certain I've seen you out there. There were only a precious few old S&Ss out there. I remember seeing an early '80s reddish/white, a grey and red (without stars or the logo) and grey and blue. That's a beautiful boat ya got!
