This will be a regularly updated thread and I will also be posting my updates to the Mastercraft Project on FB. The boat was originally purchased by Cyprus Gardens, and then used as a show ski boat by the Sarasota Ski-A-Rees where it pulled what was at the time the record for man around the boat,10.

It has since sat for a few years and I got the chance to buy it for next to nothing from a fellow team member. The plan is a full exterior, separating the deck, and interior restoration with updates along the way to include

- Carbon Fiber motorbox

- Carbon Fiber combing panels in lieu of upholstery

- New seating with 2015 updated upholstery patterns using red "Ballistic", and white "Carbon" vinyls

- Carbon dash insets

- New carpet or possibly oceangrip, seadek type material

- New hand rails, and fresh powdercoat

- Full mechanical refresh

Awesome boat with some priceless history! Can't wait to see what you do!

Tonight the rubrail came off and I drilled all of the rivets at the hull deck connection. This wasn't to difficult other than the fact that at some point someone replaced most of the rivets holding the rubrail on with through bolts which were not stainless!!

Hopefully I will have the deck off Thursday night. The previous owner also sent me a picture with my boat and four of its siblings at Cypress Gardens in '89.

Wow. Sweet!!

Is that engine cover taller than normal for the 454?? It looks taller than mine.

That engine cover is too cool!

Yes the 454 motor box is considerably larger than the standard box.

MCTB I have thought about doing something like that...not sure if I would like it day to day though.

After getting everything torn apart and ready to separate the hull and deck I started talking to the master plug builder at my company and one of our painters about the best course of action for restoring the hull. Since the boat has so many dock dings and scratches from its days as a show ski boat we decided the best course is sand the entire boat, fill all the blemishes and re-gel the whole boat.
