Hello,

The gas lift for the seat (entrance to the bow) is missing on my boat. I talked to a dealer and he said he needed a part number. Skidim doesn't carry them either. However, with the number the dealer can hopefully figure out the length and how many pounds it should hold.

Can anyone tell me what the part number is for the gas lift on their 1991 ProStar?

Thank you!

Mike, OP said it was missing. No shock. No numbers. :)

From an older post here, exact replacement on a 91 was SPD-GS-5300-30 from SPD Gas Springs. Its NAPA cross reference # is 819-5592. I believe force is 30 lbs.

How much was it?
Can't seem to find the price on Napa site...

I think the guy said $39. They didn't have it in the store so it will arrive tomorrow.

Yeah, they're not cheap at NAPA. My local dealer sold me the motor box lifting shocks for half the price of a pair from NAPA. Good source in a pinch, however.

Buy them at amazon, much cheaper:

Oh thanks! That is a lot better - I will do that instead. I appreciate saving a few bucks - more gas money. :)

I replaced mine with 40lb instead of 30lb... much better.

No problem. Remember to install it upside down so seal stays lubricated.

Is this the same part except 40lb?
