I don't know, it looks like he got shot in the leg. But from an AK he might not have much leg left....

That was a joke. No way anyone is that stupid. The Ak-47 is also deafening loud when it fire as compared to the M-16.

Had to have been. Looked like a joke from the start and I thought I heard some laughing. If it was a joke, it worked cause it was funny :)

I feel pretty confident it was staged.

Reminded me of this pic from one of those "worst jobs to have" sites...

AK-47 makes a distinctive sound when fired at you.

Just a thought, but I thought in order to win the "Darwin" award you had to be killed by the act. I remember the guy a few years back who strapped the JATO rocket to his 1973 Caprice. They said he was doing over 300 MPH when the vehicle basically disintegtrated. The brakes were worn to the linings and seized to the rotors. Sounds like a hell of a ride. Must of really sucked about 3 seconds after he lit that thing!
There is a site some where to view previous winners.

One of the famous urban legends... Although I read an article written by someone who thinks the urban legend was written from his stunt, that did not end with a 300 mph disintegration, or slamming into a mountain wall

Thanks Gunny Highway.

"Heartbreak Ridge" has been playing on some of the movie channels lately.. One of my favorites also... Was traveling with my Sales manager when that movie came out, and we saw it in Roseburg OR. at I believe the only movie house that was there.. He was a Chopper fueler in Vietnam and told me how the comments about dumb *** officers were very true.. Also the "phone cable" incident using the credit card to call in a chopper attack was based on fact....

We laughed so hard, then got pretty drunk after.....
