Anybody else old school? They are the best for wearing under a wetsuit. No pushing down and they last a decade. I have been wearing them since 3rd grade!

Check them out...I used to wear them every day when I was still skiing. If you wear a wetsuit, you don't have to stuff them down the suit. If you slalom or wakeboard..no more pushing the legs down to hide the business. The best part is that they are nearly industructable...is that a word?

I thought those shorts looked a little tight last time we were out. Based on my math, if you have been wearing them since 3rd grade you must have been a big kid and they actually lasted over 3 decades.

Thanks for posting that. All the surf shorts I seem to find might as well be pants they're so long. My friend has a pair of shorts that is so baggy and long he actually catches air like a parasail when skiing ;).

I ordered two pairs from other internet sites and had to send them both back since they were a mile long.

Long shorts are the worst!!!!
Are they shorts ot capri pants? lol

Perhaps I should consider these.

I usually wear a Speedo under my websuit and always considered it pretty good "Wetsuit Underwear". Except the last time we were out, I made the mistake of changing into my wetsuit with my daughter present. Evidently I've scarred her for life. I'm thinking the Birdwells would be cheaper than all that counselling.:(

I used to wear them when I lived in Va Beach, a long time ago.
Surfer stuff back then, definatley old school.

I saw "gonzo" on this site had the birdie for his avatar, so I would say he is wearing them. I found the website about 2 weeks ago and will order a pair soon. Looks like they do make a "baggy" version now.

i'm not a baggy jeans kind of guy, but i do like my board shorts on the larger and longer side.

You can order them how you likethe only place mine are tight is on the belt line, I got the 3 gromet shorts and "belt" rides high into the obliques.

I got the short ones but not the super short ones, basically mine are 2 inches away from hugging the peanuts. I wear them under a dry suit some and as said before, when I slalom I dont get drag like I do with todays board short. I go to the pool in longer board shorts.

Go to the website www.birdwellbeachbritches.com

They have a bigger board short listed as number 333 Here is a quote

STYLE 333: LONGER BAGGY BASIC
Approximately 21 inches long = out seam

TWO SIZES LARGER IN THE BODY

Here are some pics of the classic pair I have, like I say they make them all sizes. The Nylon is indestructable and if you saw the chat about this on the better half thread, the extra frayed tab under the logo used to be the size, it dissapears if they get wet. Thats how they can tell if they have been worn in the H2O.

Follow the instructions on the site for sizing, but basically I am a 33-34 waste and should have ordered a 36 in these.

They are also made in the good ole USA! Their website needs some updating, it takes and hour to read it. I'm think I'm going get a pair and reflect on a simpler time.

Thanks for the heads up on these guys. I ordered a pair of the 303s (18" long) and have two more pairs on order. Even with the longer short they don't drag when skiing. Although I just got my first pair they look indestructible. Oh and the people you talk to on the phone when ordering are just like you would expect from the website.

I just recieved their catalog. kinda primative, but what the hell! They make a damn good product without all the BS that goes along with it.

They don't match the boat pictured and we just can't have that!

These aren't Birdwells, more like Birdbrains, but you get my point!
