I will say the most difficult project was the rebuilding of the swim teak platform
I ordered Cumaru or Brazilian Teak from a local mill $300.00 in just the lumber plus all stainless screws . Because of the arch and the bend in the slats I had to build it using a negative pressure to say. The Arch at the rear of the boat would flex when you try to put the slats in place. To say the least now finished, I WOULD OF GLADLY PAID FOR A NEW ONE from the factory. Although it is cool to say I built that. I used the 70% linseed oil an 30% mineral spirits finisher several soakings. I did not get any before pictures of the platform prior to rebuilding it was cracked chipped and abused.

Very nice job!. What kind of paint did you use for the boat? Just a basic marine topside paint?. I'm interested in doing mine!. I hope you've gotten the chance to take this out by now!

I need to give the credit to Lone Star Collision Center in Paris, Texas
I have a GREAT father in law who has been doing this type of work for 35 years. This guys custom paint skills are amazing.

He was as excited to tackle this as I was.

I really thought there would be more haters for not keeping it original.

Is there a reason why you took the green down to the chine step in the back? Not a hater...just wondering if there is any concerns with the that section of paint below water line?

Not at all, look at jet boats, race boats, hydrofoil boats, drag boats
those are all automotive paint products, granted I used the best DuPont Imron clear coat.

The main reason was to give the boat a 3d look in that section and to follow a line around the back of the boat, I wanted the rear to really pop

Just did my boat the same color! I want to add the rear step to my trailer aswell.

I would love to see some pics im in Florida on vacation and was talking to guy who did his Mastercraft as well and it actually looked a little different than mine he used a tri coat process
using a silver base coat, then color, then clear with green flakes really looks cool

Its called a WakeAir tower Its really strong, I'm not sure where it came from it was on the boat when I purchased it, I had it powder coated black. Only complaint is I think it should have been mounted a little further forward to look correct, I should have moved it and filled the holes when I had it in the shop.

A great job indeed.

My 95 205 has a similar color scheme (old scheme). I'd really consider a new paint/gel scheme before we purchase another MC.

I'm sure its more expensive, but I'd prefer this method opposed to getting a wrap. I wonder if there's anyone in my area willing&able to do this type of project.

Does the pull point on the tower sit directly above the original pylon? That might be why it is mounted further back than it looks like it should be. I don't know if the same applies to boats, but in airplanes center of pressure/center of gravity make a significant difference in handling. CG too far back and you get no control; too far forward and you can't fly straight & level. I know my S&S is difficult to turn when I have the tow rope attached to the stern. I would think there is a geometric progression on a boarder/skier pulling you off line the further forward the pull point goes.

Wow, beautiful boat and trailer. Love the green and what an awesome job on the swim step! How about the interior? Looks like you have some red upholstery that might need to go white or tan or leave as is?
