Story in Tampa Newspaper

Will we still be the Country of choice and still be America if we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in America because it is the Country of Choice??????
Think about it . .

All I have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS? I celebrate Christmas, but because it isn't celebrated by everyone, we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings. It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday? We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that.
This says it all!

This is an editorial written by an
American citizen, published in a
Tampa newspaper He did quite a job; didn't he? Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS,
NOT AMERICANS,
MUST ADAPT.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we
are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11,
we have experienced a surge
in patriotism by the majority
of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had
barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about
the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a
multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan.. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women,
on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it
on the walls of our schools. If God
offends you, then I suggest you
consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or
you don't like Uncle Sam, then you
should seriously consider a move
to another part of this planet. We
are happy with our culture and have
no desire to change, and we really
don't care how you did things where
you came from. This is

OUR COUNTRY,
our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the
right to express his opinion and we
will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag,! our pledge, our national motto, or our
way of life, I highly encourage you
take advantage of one other great American freedom,
THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.
It is Time for America to Speak up

Those 5 words say it all.

Like many of the problems that face our country, many people are quick to identify a percieved problem but often lack the solution to the problem.

I for one do not think schools should do anything other than offer ESL to non-English speaking kids.

If they are not forced outside of their comfort zone then we have only ourselves to blame 10-13 years down the road when there's just another mouth that needs to be provided for just because we didn't want to make it hard on them when they were young.

Past history says it takes a generation to assimilate immigrants into our country. The kids of the immigrants will be fully integrated. Who doesn't have a friend whose grandparent only speaks German, Italian, etc.

I think there is a failure in teaching of American history why everyone doesn't understand GOD in our country. I don't understand it.

There is no failure to teach American History. The problem is that the history that you and I were taught has been revised.

Nowadays Columbus wasn't a great explorer who discovered America. He was an evil invader, who introduced diseases to the "Indiginous people". The pilgrims stole the land, ruthlessly murdered the indians, etc. etc. etc.

And those tribal feudal states where one Indian tribe would attack another and kill every Male (regardless of age) and take all the females as slaves, they were all peaceful farmers.

Oh, and remember all of those great founding fathers. They were evil slave owners.

It's not that are kids arent being taught.

It's that they're being taught crap.

Look at one of todays textbooks when you get a chance.

You'll be shocked.

This century finds many of us confised, i think. Terms like tolerance, acceptance, integration, and Christian values seem to have a totally different meaning and intent than they did when I was taught them as a child. This is not mine,.I paraphrased some of it, borrowed some, and wrote the rest. It's a Canadian statement, but i think you might relate.
I hope this does not offend anyone, It is certainly not meant to. If it does, i sincerly apologize. It may be a little tongue in cheek, but just a little.

This is about Political correctness and other things which make the simple so complicated, and the and the financial responsibility to belong to a "free society" which is breaking my back.

I am a minority in British Columbia, and in every casino in this country.

I was born in 1952, yet I am responsible for some FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE BEING SCREWED OUT OF THEIR LAND IN the 1700's. Now I have to make that unhappen.

I pay import tax on cars made in Ontario.

I am allowed to skydive and smoke, but not allowed to drive without a
seat belt.

All the money I make up until mid July must go to paying taxes.

I live and work among people who believe Americans are ignorant. These
same people cannot name this country's new territory.

Although I am sometimes forced to live on Kraft dinner and don't have a
pot to piss in, I sleep well knowing that my taxes helped purchase a nice six figure home in Vancouver for some unskilled refugee.

Although they are unpatriotic and constantly try to separate, Quebec
still provides my nation's prime ministers.

95% of my nation's international conflicts are over fish.

I'm supposed to call black people African Canadians, although I'm sure
none of them have ever been to Africa, or east of Halifax for that matter.

I am taught to believe that paying a 200% tax on alcohol is fair.

I am taught to believe that the same tax on gasoline is also fair.

Even if I have no idea what happened to that old rifle my grandfather
gave me when I was 14, I will be considered a criminal if I don't
register it. I also believe that the $2 billion my government has squandered, so far, in removing my firearms when it's the last thing i want, is a good thing?

My fellow countrymen often badmouth the United States and then vacation there three times a year.

I believe spending $15 billion to promote the French language in the
rest of Canada is fair when the province of Quebec doesn't support or
recognize the English language?

I'm led to believe that some lazy *** unionized broom pusher who makes
$30 an hour is underpaid and therefore must go on strike, but paying $10 an hour to someone who works 12 hour shifts at forty below on an oil rig is fair.

I believe that paying $30 million for 3 Stripes ("The Voice of Fire painting in Ottawa) by the National Art Gallery was a good purchase, even though 99% of this country didn't want it or will ever see it?

When I look at my pay stub and realize that I take home a third of what
I actually make, I say "Oh well, at least we have better health care
than the Americans." I wish we did.

My national anthem has versions in both official languages and I don't think i understand either of them any more.

Canada is the highest taxed nation in North America, the biggest
military buffer for the United States, and the number one destination
for fleeing terrorists.

I thought i believed in a democratic society, and that each of us had an equal voice. Is this it?
I am a minority, I am the 4th generation of my family to be born here, I am a white male, i am a blue collar worker who works 12 months of the year, every year. I am not just an angry white male.
I am just an angry taxpayer who is broke.
