You know, I could give a s**t that I started this thread.
I am very disappointed with the fact that there was only one reply.
If I posted a hot swimsuit pic or a problem with my boat, I'm sure that there would have been many more responses.
We owe quite a bit to our vets dammit, we should at least show them our appreciation...
C'mon guys...

stevo137, you are right. I spent today visiting the traveling Vietnam memorial wall. It is a humbling, awe inspiring experience I would recommend to everyone.

Vets, thank you! Your service is deeply appreciated.

Stevo, you are so right!! Spoke to a WWII vet today who gave a speech at my kid's school. A right honorable chap. Shook his hand thanked him for the lives we are free to live --- but how can you really thanks someone who risked or gave his life for our freedom?? It was pretty humbling.

Yes indeed. THANK YOU to all that serve.

I lost a buddy a little over a year ago in Iraq. He's buried at Arlington National Cemetary. It was an incredible experience - one I never hope to repeat.

I worked on a veteran's house today, just got in...

I agree that we need to really appreciate the men & women that served to make our freedom what we have today.

I didn't mean to bust anyone's stones but it's just one of my soft spots. (Besides the one on my head)!
I realize that some don't sign in on a daily basis to read new post's.
I get all choked up when see those that served our country that aren't appreciated or are struggling to make ends meet.
It's just not right...

Hey sorry stevo, I posted my thanks in the Marine Corps Birthday thread.

I will also say that I saw this thread once yesterday, and next thing I know it's not in "new posts" any longer. Something about the way this board is built, just because you don't open it, doesn't mean that the system thinks you want to keep it in "new posts" til you get a chance to reply.

Oh and I will reiterate what you said, we can't thank veterans enough for all they give.

I know it's belated, I couldn't get on yesterday but none the less. Thanks for all you (veterans) did and do to protect my family, our way of life and our great country. My hat goes off to you and am eternally grateful

Man, I am glued to the History Channel.
Watching Heavy Metal about the early days and missions of the B-26.
Talk about stones! Man the pilots and crews that flew those were unbelievable!

Gulf War vet here. Thanks for your appreciation. And many more thanks to those who served before and are currently serving. Father served in WWII as well. Great day to remember.

Hey SteveO.

You're welcome.

I'm sure I speak for a lot of vets when I say the thanks are appreciated, but not necesssary.

Most of us didn't serve out of a willingness to seek others adulation, but because of a deep seeded desire (some may say "calling") to serve their country.

Your kind thoughts are appreciated though.

I know, that can be a problem. I usually go back to the main discussion links and view the first page to see if I have missed anything.

Middle son played in the Veterans Invitational Tournament in Evansville. Won 2, lost 1 to 9th ranked team in the Midwest that won his age group.

I am in the U.S. Army and did a tour in Iraq... I have been back for about 8 months, and will return to Iraq in about one year from now.... I have been in the Active Army for almost 18 years... This past Holiday had a different meaning for me.... I guess I finally feel like a Veteran... Thanks for all those who have severed, currently serving, and those who gave their lives...

Very tough to get through the first page Beau! What a difficult responsibilty that must be. We as a site do a nice job remembering those that make all we take for granted secure. Always room for more Veteran threads here however. Thanks to all who have, are currently and who will serve to protect this great country.
