Glycerin (http://www.walmart.com/ip/10417582?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227001219061&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42159281830&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=35033379190&veh=sem) is great for using on rubber and is readily available.

Seems like anything would be gone after the first outing/use/fill/empty.

Glycerol has three hydroxyl groups (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroxyl_group) that are responsible for its solubility (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solubility) in water (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water) and its hygroscopic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hygroscopy) nature.

First time you turn on the pumps it's going to wash away.

What about the KY Liquid do you prefer over plain glycerin?

I prefer the sense of humor. :D:DThat works for me. We all refer to our boats a little romantically, don't we?

Drop of dish soap.
A little too anal for me, water should hit it in seconds. The most I can see is popping the cover to make sure it is not stuck, beyond that no issues.
