Hi all, looking for a little advice.

I have pro x series 400lb sacs in the rear lockers on my 2000 xstar and standard KGB in the centre locker. What is the minimum and suggested ballast I should have up in the bow? Currently I have around 400lbs of lead distributed in the bow lockers. Not sure how much more I should be looking at adding.

Appreciate the help.

Most will say 60/40, front/rear. So, another 400lb or so up front would be a good place to start and then you can adjust to your liking.

On my friend's X-1 he had your setup and would run a 750# sac in the walkway. He did not have any lead up there. I think that hull likes extra bow ballast.

In that hull I ran:
750 in back lockers (full, really, really full)
KGB sac
walkway sac
about 200 lbs of lead in the bow
400 sac in the cockpit area

wake was bananas at about 23.6

With only 400 in the ski lockers, you could easily get away with just adding another 400 in the walkway. If you ever moved up to the 750s in the back, then you'd probably need to give up the bow and put a 1000lb sack up there. But with those 400s in the lockers and another 400 of lead in the bow, I think another 400 in the walkway will get you where you need to be.

I have 750s in the back, 350 in the ski locker, and 750 in the walkway. I can't fill up the 750s in the back because I don't have enough weight up front. I don't run any lead. This season I'm getting a bow filler cushion and upgrading to the 1000lb bow sack. Not only will that be 250lbs more weight, but it will be further forward to compensate for all that junk in the trunk. I know for a fact that it will send my wake to the next level.

It seems our hull is getting a lot of attention on this right now. Just a heads up on prop consideration. I spent the money on weight first and now am finding out that I should have upgraded the prop first.
Thanks for all the info from Aric'sX15 and Budman.
