Thx tx. Still no baby! She was due Yesterday. Each night, she has contractions and about the time we're ready to call the doc & go to the hospital - they either start to lessen in strength, or become irregular.

The office pool has her going into labor at 2:30 tomorrow morning. We'll see how close they come.

They have a C-Section (since our first was a C-section - we're trying for a VBAC) scheduled for Wed the 9th. I certainly hope she has it before that.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this board! You guys are the BEST!

Keep us update Jimmer, we are all thinking of you and your family :wavey:

Our hospital is the only one left in this area that will still do vb after C. What the insurance companies don't know is that IF your original C was done for a non-repeatable problem (IE - if it was done because the baby was in distress, NOT something like the birth canal wasn't big enough, etc), a ******l birth is actually safer overall than a repeat C.

But - it's like everything - you have to do your own research & weigh the risks yourself. We had to change doctors to find one that still encouraged VBAC's. Even then, they are very selective as to who they'll take. At the same time, though - if they allow you to try for VBAC, they encourage it 100%.

I suspect that unless mothers start to do their own research & fight back, all VBAC's will be banned in the US within 2 years.

BTW - another day, another doctor's visit. Still only 1cm dialated. Due date was YESTERDAY for crying out loud!

Momma can't take any more nights of constant contractions. Daddy can't take Mommy being so stressed. Thank goodness I can still drink!

Let's hear it for breastfeeding and Dad's inability to do so!

well bud i'm in the exact same spot as you! My wife is ready to pop and the womanly signs are saying labor in the next 24 hrs. (don't ask it's kinda gross). So i guess the only logical way to kill toime is to look at some boat stuff!!!! Good luck to you and your wife

Congrats North.

As predicted - the hospital doesnt' have WiFi.

Anyway - only ran home for 2 minutes to pick up some stuff. Lydia Sarah Merrell was born at 6:35 PM Sunday. She weighed 8lb 10oz and was 21 inches long. We did end up with a repeat C-Section, so I won't be on the board for a few more days.

I will post pic's as soon as I bring them home.

later guys - you're the best!

Congratulations Jim & Family,
Two girls close in age like yours will be pretty cool when they get older.
My girls are 21 months apart and are best friends in high school. I always told them that their sister will be the person they know the longest in their life and should always always stick together.

Your 2 1/2 year old looks pretty excited to have a sister.

Thank you all very much for the kind words/thoughts. Both Momma & baby are doing great. Momma does a real good job of eating right, exercising, etc. It's a good thing that Men (or - at least, I) cannot have babies..... Mine would come out drunk, stupid & I'd be crying about everything until I died. I just don't know how she does it - feeding every 2 hours. Can't wait until the milk comes in.:friday:
