As read on Menshealth.com

Unless you're trying to run an Internet scam, life is easier when you can avoid dummies. Which means the residents of Fort Wayne, Indiana, face a challenge: That's the town that ranks last in our measures of intelligence. (Dan Quayle grew up just outside Fort Wayne. Coincidence?) Indiana's second-largest city can't be completely lacking in smarts, though--the NBA started there.

We based our rankings on the number of bachelor's degrees per capita, the number of universities, inhabitants' SAT scores, state creativity scores as assessed by Catalytix and the Richard Florida Creativity Group, and the number of Nobel Prize winners for physics and medicine born within the towns' borders.

When our crew of brains finished crunching the numbers, Minneapolis came out as the nation's valedictorian. Boston and Denver also sit at the head of the class.

the criteria of these types of "studies" always gives me a chuckle!
BUT
For another unscientific study: if we go by the way folks drive in Houston, then yep, my city is stupid!!

My city/town isn't on the list. But yes, by and large, stupid.

A quick scan of the drunk and stupid lists shows a corilation to being sober and stupid or drunk and smart. Coincidence, college towns = drunk, smart people?

Reader's digest published the ratings of cleanliness for cities, based on air pollution, garbage presence, water quality, recycling, and numerous other quantities, Minneapolis ranks pretty high on that one too. Chicago, is painfully low.

Hmmm. Orlando is #71 with a D+. At least the people living there know they live in Florida (well, maybe not all of them).

(Yeah, I checked. Mapquest never heard of Orlando, California either)

A city in Kentucky in the top 30, seems like a flawed study to me.

San Diego comes in at #8, and better than just being smart (and relatively sober according to the other series) we are blessed with great weather and beautiful girls who like to dress in short clothing as well.
