I noticed when messing with my PP, that my temp gauge is reading 240 deg with the engine completely off. I do not know if this will change when I run the engine, but I didn't notice it being an issue before. When I turn the key to the on position, that and the battery V meter make a rapid clicking sound for a couple secs, then settle into position. The V meter is reading as it should, but the temp gauge is reading a bit on the high side.

Check your wire at the temp sensor on the engine. Perhaps it came off the sensor and is either just hanging there or touching the engine grounding itself. (not sure which way gives you a pegged reading) What does it read with engine running and up to operating temp? It should be around 160.

The rapid clicking sound should be normal, the gauges are electronic and they sweep when you first start the engine.

It has always done the rapid clicking sound, which did not really concern me too much. I believe the normal operating temp is around 160. I will check the ground as I have been messing around in the engine compartment so there is no telling what I may have bumped in the process.
