For the traveling folk how many flyer miles have you put on in your highest year?

This year for me is the highest, I should come in at about 75k-80k on Delta.

My boss will probably top 200k this year.

I racked up 25,000 flying back and forth from Germany one year. Luckily they haven't expired and I've been able to accumulate 80,000 over the past couple of years.

Since we've got money at work now (new fiscal year) I've got several trips lined up for 2006 but they won't add up to much more than 10,000

In past life, I had a few years that included 2 trips all over Asia, 2-3 trips Central / South America, 1-2 Europe, plus Canada, and whatever else I could fit in. Not sure but those musta been 70-100k years.

Thankfully not doing that anymore !

Around 70k on Northwest (55k now), and 10k each on Frontier, Delta, United this year, had several trips with NWA problems. Did 80k last year on Northwest. Will probably not make Platinium on NW this year, 75k, unless there is an extra trip or two. NW is very good about upgrading freq flyers to first class. Only been in coach couple of segments over past two years.:friday:

More proud of getting 12 free tickets from NW using miles over the past two years!

Jeff; Delta should be a good ride for you out of Cin.

I prolly hit 80K in my busiest year. Now not much, once a year to Japan, and once a qtr to San Jose. Love Delta, they are the best IMHO

Think it was something like 75k, next year I started flying my own airplane. Made a HUGE difference in travel time, and comfort.

Friend of mine had a ridiculous 225 flight segments in one calendar year. Can't even imagine how many miles he collected that year.

I'm with Eric, 0!
I drove to Atlanta in March, does that count?
I need to check the "what do you do for work" thread to find out what you guys are doing to have to travel so much and avoid those careers at all cost. I hate to fly.

Yeah, I hear ya.

I used to travel about 95% of my time. I was working for a US company, living just outside of Paris in Saint Germain en Laye from '96-'00, and traveling all over. In a 4 year period, I logged 1.5MM miles with the United carriers. I knew most of the counter workers, flight attendants, and gate workers by face if not by name...

Everybody I worked with thought it was so cool that I got to travel so much. Yeah.......whatever

Then I hit a wall, but that's another story :(

Oh man I wish my company would let me do that! Most of my travel is regional. I'd own a 182 or a 172xp next week if that was the case. I asked once, they didn't like the liability idea

I've been using my boss's flyer miles, nothing spent, nothing earned. Does that count?

As a side note, drive about 40K a year:)

Earned 250,000 on USAirways during 2001-2004 when I was commuting between Orlando and D.C. About 20,000 on Delta and also got a few free trips from Southwest during the same time. Bartender at Washington National Airport got to know me pretty well on Friday nights. All earned on my own dime -- employer wouldn't pay for them. I guess they expected me to move up North when they hired me!

Talk to AOPA, they have a nicely prepared guide. I was blessed with one company having no idea, and the other, executive VP was a pilot himself.

Yeah, and there's nothing above the 1k membership

When I was traveling, I liked United, but mostly because of their alliance with Lufthansa, which was my preferred carrier in Europe...

hmmm.. I'll check that out. My ex-boss was a pilot (Exec. VP as well) and he would probably have ok'd it but I think if the company attorney would have known about it he'd have been shi$ canned instead of promoted!

Last year I logged 110k miles with USAir...this year I am at 78k with a couple months left. Over the last two years I have flown on 170 segments.

113,178 miles so far this year...and nearly all of that was Jan 1- Aug 1. Probably only 10k of that is post August.

Sales guy in the IT field. The miles are slowing down with a job change that happened Aug 1. Even with all the work travel, we still managed to put 125hrs so far this year on the boats.
