View Full Version : OEM MasterCraft dash switches . . . where to get 'em

Does anyone know where to get the OEM-style dash switch covers used in 2005 (and several other years?) The basic switches are easy to get -- they are the Carling units that everyone uses. Various types of covers are used by various boat manufacturers.

Wakemakers.com carries something really close to the OEM MC covers but they don't have the slight curve that the MC ones have. http://www.wakemakers.com/ballast-rocker-switch-cover.html

I'm planning to install a wakeplate this summer and would like to install a matching switch. I don't know if a "Trim" or "Tab" cover is available; I would settle for just a blank one if need be.

Contact MasterCraft of Charlotte or dig into their website. I think the covers are only a couple of bucks. I looked into it recently and there's no easy option to go straight to the manufacturer but they have a lot of distributors scattered around that you can also order from.

Thanks. I had checked every website I could think of except MC of Charlotte! Yes, they do have the OEM switch covers.

I also found them at www.mouser.com. They have blank covers which would be perfect but the pic of the item doesn't match the description so I have an email into them to get the straight scoop.

Good idea to use acetone to wipe off the lettering if one just wants a blank switch cover. :)
Never thot of that.

Just communicated with Branan at Charlotte MC and the contoured switch covers are no longer available, at least from them. :(
The search continues. Still waiting to hear back from Mouser.com

Bummer. So what's show on their website doesn't match their inventory?
They have several things listed that I'm interested in buying.

Evidently not. They show several Contura switch covers -- Ballast, Blower, Bilge, ACC, etc. -- but I guess they don't actually have them.

Check out Pacer Group. They have many actuators with different blank or marine silk screens.

Good resource. Do you know if they can print on the covers? All I'm really missing is the ink. Going from faded to blank isn't ideal.

OR, does anyone know of a way to print on these? Perhaps a method more finished than a Ptouch or old fashioned label maker?

Thanks for the lead. I did check Pacer -- they do have some of the Contura products but not the Series IV actuators which match the OEM ones.

PM sent.

Sorry, can't get your link to open . . .
But I was on the Mouser website before and found this:
http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Carling-Technologies/VVENC00-000/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsqIr59i2oRcortqEmGFdBDovP7%252b6HH%2 fMU%3d
which has the pic of exactly what I want but the description indicates it is white and non-illuminated. I emailed asking for clarification but haven't had a response yet.

@ Ryan, I wonder if you could take the covers to an engraver, have them engrave what every you want then paint the cover and wipe off the surface leaving the paint in the engraved part.

if you really want the writing on these - get a hobby cutter like this...

http://www.meijer.com/s/silhouette-america-cameo-electronic-cutter-machine/_/R-301805?CAWELAID=330003980000913380&cagpspn=pla&cmpid=Google-G_US_Meijer_eCom_PLA_Crafts_Art_Supplies&gclid=CL3YicO2rbsCFbA7MgodnXUAvQ&kpid=CAMEO

cut some stencils - apply to switches use a good plastic enamel - voila -

I bet D3skier can cut our stencils on his cutter.
