I have considered the WB. I would prefer the RPM based HSE - I may have to go with the WB if I can't find one. It gets great reviews and seems like a quality product.

Found one on Craig's List - new, in the box! Should be here monday. Question for anyone familiar with the install in an '06 X30 (or probably any boat with Medallion gauges): What will be the easiest place to locate the RPM wire - back at the wiring harness or under the helm? Obviously, there must be an RPM wire going into the MMDC. Also, I have Perfect Pass installed and that has an RPM source. What color is the RPM wire?

I don't have access to my boat, but I used the Tach lead for the Perfect Pass when I installed mine. I'm pretty sure the wire was white. Here is a link that should help:
