I'm looking at a 2012 x25 or x35. This will be our 2nd boat and 1st MC. I'm looking for any suggestions of what to look for. I know the screens had issues and changed to Murphy but my understanding was the software upgrades have corrected them? Fuel filters still having problems? One is a 2 hour drive away and one is 900 mi, would you recommend hiring a surveyor or what is their extended warranty? Any other components that wee famous for failing?

I don't imagine they make a lot of X35's these days. I've heard the 2012's have had their issues ironed out however the difference between 2012's and 13's is night and day.

Agreed, you won't find many 35's out there. Lots of nice 25's to be had though.

Idk. You might wanna hold off a while. The x25 has had that "body style" for quite a while now and wouldn't be surprised if they change it. x35 on the other hand wasn't produced much and isn't the best boat. If you wait and the new style x25 comes out you could probably get a much better deal on the x25.

The x25 probably wont change for a while in my opinion. It just came out in 2010.

That would be out of character to change the hull after only four model years. ICBW, but I think that would be a record for MC.

I don't think the hull will change, but certainly the deck at some point will be hipperized.:D

If anything maybe a deck revamp however I don't know where they would improve on it. It was the first deck to really feature a lot of the ergonomics that finally came along with new X30, X10 and XStar. As per my dealer it is still selling on par with the X30 (though it seems to me we see a lot more X30's).

Maybe if they lifted the deck an inch or two we could get a few hundred pounds more subfloor ballast?

I would think they will change it and put that hump in it they are putting in the rest of the line.

Ugh don't want I see the hips on the 25. More ballast would be nice though.

What did you hear from the dealer? It would be so strange to change it after 4 years.

Sounds like rubbish to me. To the best of my knowledge, MC hasn't done a hull change after only four years, be hard to believe they'd do it with this model.

How long has the CS 220 hull been around though? And with the g21 hitting boat shows this winter maybe they will revamp earlier than normal.

Csx was 07 maybe? The 25 with more ballast would be sweet!

11 boats in the current lineup - 5 of which have "Hips" All the gel lines currently follow a very similar flow. With the bow indentations and sweeping "Hips" lines, gives more gel color options and lines to mask against. Hmmm - Just sayin, seems to be the way of the future. Good quote for the movie quote thread, (I crack myself up):D

MC has the best line up of hulls already. What they need to do to sell more boats is not revamp their current line up but get a surf system and more ballast built in!!!

Thank you for the replies! I'm going into this expecting a hull change..I also expect hips at some point and the x25 and x35 are next in line now that x46 is done. I'm more worried about what specific components to look out for in 2012 models. As stated the screens were a known issue and I heard fuel filters but not sure what years. Can I buy a warranty and if so should I skip the surveyor? Anything else to look out for?
Thanks for all the support!

Why aren't they making as many x35?

IMO, it's not as functional as other boats in the MC lineup. Seating isn't good...

It'd be a recent record. I can't see any reason to change a hull that is so popular.

I wouldn't worry about them changing the hull or adding hips anytime soon.

I had a 2012 and it was a mess, especially perfect pass and all the ballast issues. If it's all fixed great!
