Curious to know what ski life looks like out in the Virginia Beach/ Chesapeake, VA area? My company offered me a promotion opportunity and I'm not familiar with the area. Is all skiing done on the inland waterways? I don't see many lakes in the area. Thanks as always for the input!

well its probably good ... but not nearly as good as your FAVORITE UNCLE's place ... you know the one that helped you to first ski when you were ~7 the one who offered to take you deer hunting this year ... yeah that one ... no not Jerry, the other one

hey congrats ... i was expecting this ... hope to see you Thursday

Very little fresh water in that area .. its all heavy salt. Closest lakes are Gaston and Lake Anna (which is where we are at).

unrelated - I grew up in WV and ski'd the Kanawha river, summersville, burnsville, and sutton lakes. Miss having more options ...

Not too far West/Southwest of Chesapeake you've got some skiable, fresh water river locations(specific names escape me.) Just south of the NC/VA border, you've got the Chowan River. More limited, but much closer than Lake Anna or Gaston.

There's a private lake with a course in Hampton. You would have to live on it or get to know someone who does....

The admin for Planet Nautique lives on Lake Anna and seems to be "slightly" interested in the ski/wakeboard scene. He's a super good guy it might be worth contacting him (http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/member.php?155-NautiqueJeff).
