The time to replace your calendars with 2006 info is soon upon us! Based on the great response of people last year wanting a TMC owners calendar I have agreed to do one again for 2006. As was last year, the calendar will be 11 x 17' on a glossy paper stock. Each month will feature 4 boats/boat scenes submitted by the members of the board that wish to take photo spots. (multiple spots can be taken if wanted) I will do my best to put your photos in the months you request but can't make any guarantees, and it will be first come first serve basis. Last year I believe we sold 60 calendars with half the membership we have this year so selling more calendars should be a given this year. The pricing for calendars are the same as last year:

Total qty ordered:

50-74 each $36 each delivered
75-99 each $31 each delivered
100-124 each $28 each delivered
125-149 each $25 each delivered
150 + each $21 each delivered
-Yes these prices are steeper than what you'll pay for a run of the mill calendar at the store but this is a customized calendar and printed in a quantity so small no printer would touch the job. Look at it this way, you are getting a SWEET customized calendar with yours and other TMC owners boat pics on the calendar.

Same as last year each photo position will be $10.

We have had a great photo thread on here (read: Swimsuit pics) but would like to keep photos clean and family oriented. Lets keep a calendar that you wouldn't be embarrased to have your kids look at or your boss see.

I am going to do my best to keep this on schedule for delivery before the 1st of the year and have a goal to have them to you by Christmas. If you would like to order calendars and photo spots here is what I need from you in an email:

1. Your TMC username
2. # of calendars you want
3. # of photo positions you want and months you would like to see your pics in
4. Shipping address
5. Preferred method of payment, I can take Credit Cards, paypal or checks. All calendars must be prepaid before I start the production of the calendar.
Also please send me any pics you want included. JPEGs, TIFF, EPS, BMAP, are fine. They must be high resolution photos, NO thumbnails please!!

Lets make this a big success like last year. I have had many compliments on the calendars. The 2006 design will be even better!!

Due Date for order info: November 30, 2005 @ 6pm EST.

Please email all info to: jdrandol@hotmail.com

P.S. last year there was about $15 in profit if I remember correctly after paying for everything included mailing etc..... If by chance there is a profit this year I will donate all profits to the Hurricane Katrina assistance fund.

So order some SWEET calendars and maybe help a great cause too!!

One calendar, one spot. Thanks so much for doing this!

Do you think it is possible to add text on the pictures this year somehow to identify who and circumstances, etc? Could be legend at the bottom.

Yes, that is the plan. The most critical part is that when I receive email orders all the info i requested is included. I had hoped to do this last year but ran out of time trying to chase people down to get back with me for their screen name. So PLEASE include all requested info the first blush.

Update: I have 5 calendars confirmed (email order) so far. Not bad for less than 24 hours since the thread start!!

I am up to 7 calendars confirmed (just counting email orders with info, not posts) Get those emails coming guys! I am going to meet with the graphic artist this evening and get some ideas together on the design. I am thinking something more minimalist this year with a slight "tech" feeling to it. What do you guys think? Suggestions for those purchasing are very welcome and appreciated. I will try and take all suggestions into consideration

That is correct. If you want your boat in the calendar there is a placement fee. We did this to help keep the cost of the calendar down. For $10 heck yes I want my boat to be famous :guitar:

Have had a few requests for some pics of the current calendar. Here are a few examples of what the current calendar looks like. It is printed on a glossy/smooth finish paper. I am looking at a different type of binding this year in lieu of saddle stitch. Anyway here are few pics. I have had a few great ideas for the "look" of this coming years calendar email'd to me so keep em' coming! I want all that want to participates idea'rs into our calendar for 2006.

Personally, I would rather see only one boat per month in the larger picture. I think the cover of the 05 calendar is by far the best pic(because of the size).
The rest you can barely make out. Again, only an opinion if you were asking me. :o

You did an awesome job putting it together. Must have put alot of effort.

I think I am in either way, JR Ill get in touch.

Only if you can hitch it to the blue car and launch it. Or better yet, drive the car and trailer front first into the launch deep enough you can get the boat off. Now that might earn its place in the calendar.
Or even better yet, USE THE DURANGO!!! He may let you in then!!!!

Hey folks. Just jumping on fast enough to post that I am buried at work and been traveling so have been short time preparing all this. Update:

I have orders for 33 calendars at this point. HOWEVER, there are several people on here who posted they wanted one (or more than one) but I still am missing an email with your order request.

I don't think I can "convince" the printer to let us print with only 33 orders but we are darn close to our mark of 50, I might even be able to convince them if we got 40, I don't know for sure on that but will try.

Soooooo.........please get your orders email'd to me ASAP so we can all get these hopefully before Christmas!!

Guys, heres the update. I begged and pleaded with the printer and the bottomline is for the very few we have ordered they can't do it at the price we had last year. I didn't ask for a requote because I am anticipating the price to be much higher. So we have 2 options at this point

1. Scrap the idea. The 2 folks that have sent me payment (I still have the checks uncashed) I drop the checks back in the mail to you.

2. Some folks buck up and order calendars and we hold out until we have 50

I ordered 2 but my opinion is scrap it.
I am amazed that this bunch wouldnt want to do this so badly that it'd be a race to get their pics in to Jeff :o It's quite frankly, embarassing.

There is one other option Jeff and that's the entrepreneural route..... YOU pony up the extra cash and then list them here in the marketplace as well as ebay. I am not volunteering myself for this as you can see but it's an option.

One more option is that you use some of those sales techniques to sell a bunch of them to some people we know in Vonore!
TMC should put these in their proshop if they could work something out with Jeff as far as content and pricing don't you think?

I think the calander is a great idea, but I have to be honest, $36 is more than I want to pay for a calander. I am sure I am not alone on this. I personally wound not pay more than 10 or 15 for one.

I have to commend Jrandol for putting it together last year and trying to do it again this year.

It would be nice if MasterCraft would pich in and help out here with some $$ for the project. Maybe they could get some of there suppliers to kick in as well. I dont think any or too many of us would mind seeing a small MC or PP or OJ or maybe even a dealer ad here and there in the calander. This would be great advertising for all parties concerned.

Just my :twocents: and I am willing to kick in $14.98 more.

I ask myself, would I want a TT member calendar with a bunch of advertisements in it? I already get maybe a dozen or two free ones of all sorts every year. I want one and am willing to fork out the(almost) $50.00 because it has all of the MC boats of the owners here.
Great idea, but it would fit into a different catagory for me though. It wouldn't be the same. On the same note, maybe TMC should give them out with the membership!!!;) Since they stopped the hitch covers...

I say we commision Our Great Moderator to send a blast email to everyone registered on the board that they have a chance to get their pic in The Calendar. There has to be hundreds of people who only visit the site once a month that miss all of these conversations but may have some of the sweetest pics out there.

Jeff;

If you want something cheaper and probably not the quality of last year. We could consider Walmart and I think we could each print out our own at $17.96 each.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=166648&path=0%3A5426%3A185382%3A166648

I like this Walmart idea. We could still do 4 pics per month like this... slap-it-together example. Then it doesn't matter how many people order with one fixed per unit price.

Ryan; If you did that on their website that looks great, if the month is below then it looks similar in format to last year's. I've used the Walmart photo show often and always been satisfied.

Ryan
12-09-2005, 07:58 PM
I just threw that together in MS Paint. It (a cleaned up and balanced version anyway) can be uploaded as a single JPEG to prevent any formatting their site may invoke.

Trouble is, I'm not sure we even have 48 people interested to submit pictures. I'm sure we could come up with that many.

This is just a failsafe if we don't make our other goal. I'll talk to my graphic artist buddy to see what ideas he has. Maybe copy a theme from HO's 06 designs.

Well Sporty, had to call in the urban-dictionary, and of course the kids knew.

Southern Tenant Farmers' Union (STFU): Large labor union, formed in Arkansas in 1934, which lobbied the federal government for better New Deal reforms. Dissolved in 1960. Commonly causes mirth among US History students who are aware of the acronym's double meaning.

You pull it off for good?
no, just for winter, and just pulled it off at the hinge point. This is exactly why I wanted the 04 tower on the 05 boat. Wintertime, the kids won't get in the water, so I remove it.
When you remove the tower, only the base tubing is there and it runs pretty much with the lines of the windshield so it still looks nice. Hope to get pics up here soon.

Ric

not sure yet, the walls of my little garage are covered with skis and shelves and banners so it's at my girlfriends in the garage right now wrapped in a buncha towels.
Looks like a couple of nice padded hooks on the wall will work. Then break the hinged legs loose and let them hang so they don't knock someone in the head when walking by.
It's really very lightweight and even moreso when you pop off the board and ski racks

Hey all!

update: MYMC replied (thank you!) and we are good to go. However, I have a request to make to the group. I feel as since MYMC kinda "bailed us out" here we ought to do a little something for him. If you all don't have a problem with it, I'd like to see that some non-obtrusive advertising for MYMC make it into the calendar. After all, he did agree to make a nice financial contribution to get this done for all of our enjoyment. Perhaps this could be a way of saying thank you (along with us doing future biz with him if this comes up)

I'd like to keep this an overall group decision. If you have issue with it please PM or email me. Your opinion counts if you ordered a calendar.

Thanks!

Thanks!Jeff, in light of the circumstances, I would suggest that you be the judge of how we may oblige MYMC and do as you see fit. So far you have been instrumental in making this happen so I vote you as Chief in Charge.

Other potential sponsorships or assisted opportunities have seen our needs but MYMC stepped up without hesitation, which is a good thAng...

Let's move on with this and make it happen in whatever manner that you see fit. I am sure that they would be happy with a web site URL in small print somewhere each month. I know I would be..

As for a family oriented overall appeal, again, I agree with your perspective and judgment as well....

It's all good... :toast: and thank you MYMC for stepping up for the good of the cause here. :toast:

Seriously Jeff, if a whole buncha MC and or Skiing related companies wanted to promote on your calendar, I'd be fine with it. Ok I believe I have email'd everyone whom I have email orders from. Included in your emails is my mailing address to send payment too. I don't think anyone will stiff me but please don't give reason for my wife to flip out on me  I am fronting all the cash for this project myself and waiting to get paid by all. The only reason I am willing to do it this way is so everyone gets the calendar faster and most everyone that ordered is regulars on here so I consider you friends.

I have a few orders funneling in here and there. Here are the extended and final cutoffs.

Calendar orders: I will accept orders for calendars ONLY until Monday Dec. 19th @ 5pm EST.

Photo orders: ALL Photos MUST be email'd to me NO LATER than 5pm EST Friday 16th. My email address is: jdrandol@hotmail.com

Obviously getting these by Christmas is out of the question. I am going to make every attempt in the world that they show up in your mailbox by Jan. 1, 2006. (Except for out of the country guys ;) ) Not trying to give you a whining story or anything but to make the first of the year deadline this means the printer will be overnighting me the finished product in Colorado where I'll be visiting family over the holidays and I'll be mailing them to you from Colorado. So what I am saying is PLEASE respect the extended deadlines and get your info in!!

Take care! If you need anything email me! Time to get on another plane!
