...though this might be fun to talk about.
I flew to Idaho today to inspect my new X30 and sign docs...
Had some extra time, so the Dealer took me to there custom Wood Boat factory..
We got to take a peek at the ALL WOOD X30 that I had only heard rumors about from other dealers ....

It's still being built so I'm not giving too much away ...but it is as much a Work of Art as the MasterCraft is itself....

I will post pics in a moment..

These guys are a Top Notch 1st class outfit, talk about hand built ... Their boat fleet is insane...crazy custom with a Retro 20-30-40s Mobster looks....
Modern technology hides behind these hand built masterworks...unbelievable.

The Wicked Wood - is the Malibu LSV 247 inspired boat. That is the finished Boat , in for repairs , shown last in my photo set..
They Built that one unit only for a Hockey player...
There are no others Built yet of that Model

The X30 shown being fitted with actual MC parts inside , is # 1 hull

The upside down skeletal Hull is X30 # 2

No others in progress.

They can essentially Built on about 7-8 Hulls at a Time depending on size of Craft

January is the est completion date for #1 X30

When I spoke to Robb at the boat show last year about building a wood Mastercraft he told me that they were holding off until the X-46 was released-he said that the original idea was to build an X-45 or X-55. There is a sketch that Stancraft did a couple of years ago showing the old X-45/X-55 body style with a wood body in this thread:
http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=41413
It's pretty cool that they actually got these in production. I'm going to have to head over and try and get a look sometime. I got the impression that one or more of the MC executives were getting these wood versions. Hopefully they will have one at the boat show this year.

Oddly enough, I was there to sign docs on Gozzers 2013 Summer boat.. X30 6.2..

Cool thing is, StanCraft out fits these Gozzer boats with a very nice FLY HI twin 750 ballast system.
They make a nice custom Switch Plate, with MC switch mounted by the The throttle assemble and other Ballast switches to Match.SEE PICs
Each are Separate with MATCHING ballast pumps to MC stock.

I didn't ride it in, just checked it out while it was moored. The fit and finish are amazing. I saw it out on the water a few times, the wake didn't blow me away, but I'm guessing that's not the important thing for the buyers of those boats.

I also ordered Custom MC LO-Profile Trailer similar to the one pictured..
It will be GALVENIZED, then Paint matched to the one shown...Wheels will be 18" Black XDs..

The interior shown is unique for this model....we like it, had not seen others like this at all

...The brown will get hotter the Black fabric be leave it or not...

For a boat used daily ALL summer it is in very good to Excellent condition...

Looking forward to going back to haul it home in a few months...

I should correct myself, after looking at the Wicked Wood pictures vs the ones of the LSV I took at the Factory for repairs.
They are in fact the NOT the same boat....as I had thought..
The one on website had Digital panel displays for gauges etc..
The one I witnessed had round analog gauges
Both clearly resemble an LSV247...

They must have sold another one-maybe last year? I know they were aggressively marketing the Wicked Wood. They took it down to Phoenix for Barrett Jackson and a bunch of boat shows here in the north west.

So the two wood X-30s are headed down to Miami for the boat show. I was told they ended up about a foot longer than an X-30. Not sure if they are coming back to Stancraft after this show or if they are already sold. I meant to try to get out and take a look this winter, but forgot about this until I was talking to them at the boat show last weekend. Sounds like Stancraft has been slammed with orders for the wood clad pontoon that they're doing with Bennington:

I am in no way shape or form taking away from the beauty and elegance of these StanCrafts. If these guys have the money to build something custom, go for it. They are TOTALLY cool!!

That said, building a utilitarian boat out of wood would be a nightmare if you actually want to use a pontoon as a pontoon or a wakeboat as a wakeboat. I would be a nervous wreck even sitting in it!!

So this is a 100% wooden hull or is it using an X30 as a base. Pretty cool either way. Reminds me of the old 1994 Correct Craft Paragon, but those were wood overlaid.
