O.k. on the new X-Stars you only have two choices for the Chromex lettering...I'm all set on my other selections, I just need to decide if I want to go chrome...or black. Tone on tone I think would look sweet and make the boat even a little more stealthy looking in the water. here are the two pics side by side, and also a real life one I "stole" a picture from another site of somebody with a similar boat and did my crappy version of photo-shop (please do not laugh, I'm sensitive) to make the colors the same as what I am ordering...tell me what you think.

Thanks!

I'd go chrome, so it matches with the X and MasterCraft logos.

Ask them to leave it off and throw it under the observers seat. I think it would look better without it.

I figured Mike might be on here...I came across a picture of his doing a Google search and it lead me to a Wake World forum post he had made. I actually chatted with him about a couple things, great guy! It absolutely confirmed that I made the right color choice after seeing real life pics...his boat is flat out gorgeous. I'm going to be even a little more risky and going with a bunch more black, just cause most of my toys are murdered out like that. I'm doing the exact inverse of his interior...so more black but allows me to do the green welt line which should look plain sick against the black, I can't wait. I know the black vinyl would not be great in the deep south, but us northern kids have more days we are out in the 60's and low 70's than days it is above 88. Plus it will force the chicks to jump in more often & who doesn't like that?

Anyway, I keep deciding on black...then look at the pic of Mike's boat in the water and the chrome does look sweet. Probably can't go wrong either way.

They wouldn't do my '09 without decals. Had to have dealer peel them off when the boat got to him.

I know it can be done, the dealer just needs to contact the right people. If no decal is what you want, I bet a call to the factory before the boat enters production would do the trick.

My dealer was pretty involved with the factory. But it just may be that it wasn't worth the effort. Maybe he figured it was just easier to have his guys do it. But the reason I remember it is because I found it odd that the factory would say no to that request.

O.k. funny because each girl that I ask likes the black, the guys mostly like the chrome. I'm torn...but I did confirm I can have them not install it. I am leaning now of getting the chrome, but having them leave it off and I can wait to see it in person before deciding. That got me thinking though and I'm debating having them not put any of the stickers on at all (the big X and the chevrons that go down the side) to have it be really clean looking...I kind of like the idea of no identification at all and people having to ask what the hell it is.

DING DING DING! We have a winner :D

I've always thought the big X is an eye sore on an otherwise sexy looking boat. I do like the chevrons though.

I requested this on my 13 Star, and they had no problem shipping without decals. There was a bunch of stuff I wanted left off anyhow, and I also wanted to do what is quoted below....

That's what I did. Love it... I also left off all of the small square decals under the rub rail. It all was just a little too much. I may even pull all the decals under the rubrail back off.

O.k. I really like FourForty's idea of black and chrome both...o.k. this is my last thing I bother you guys with. Here is an expert rendering of no "X" decal in both black and chrome.

Personally, I really like your color layout without the X decal...... I would go with the satin chrome on both the "MasterCraft" and "XStar" decals if you get rid of all the other decals. I think it would look awesome.

The bottom pic looks best to me. The Xstar logo in chrome just looks like its out there floating with no where to go.

Doesn't seem like that's something they should turn down. Pretty simple request.

I meant the only decals to be the "MasterCraft" and "XStar" logo's in satin chrome, and nothing else on the boat. No big "X", and none of the rectangular pieces under the rub rail....

I thought we had that all figured out? HAHA

I like the MC, and XStar in chrome, but the big X off. But honestly, I would go with any option it is a great looking boat color combo.

I will go back to peering at my 08 now :-/

So I am getting the boat without any of the decals. I am actually going to the factory to watch it get built on the final day of assembly...projected to be 1-13-14, I can't wait! I am asking them to hold off on putting on the chrome v black logos until I get to see the boat in person, we will see what they say. Voting between this forum and friends went about 51% black 49% chrome. It's any easy/cheap what to change the whole look of the boat down the road as well.
