Did anyone hear the news out of the Vegas Sema show about Indmar partnering with Ford to offer a few Raptor modified 6.2L engines?
I saw the teaser, and there are a few vids on YT of the truck but not the engine.

I haven't seen pics of the engine though. They did a great job with the plenum on the mcx. I'm curious to see how they'll dress this one up.

Yes, it was a very nice shade of red, or blue...... That plenum was just a standard issue GM vortec plenum.

While the MCX upper intake is nothing special performance wise, I did think it was unique to Indmar. What application did GM use this in?

Anyone want me to climb in the supra and raise the engine cover? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/07/a5yde9ut.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/07/ga7ymave.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/07/a8a5abag.jpg

If I remember right, it was the very last year that GM used the 5.7l in the Silverado/sierra pickups. I think it was the only year that they had a sequential fuel injection system, before the introduction of the 5.3l. The years before were the MPI (bank fire system), which had a different intake. The years after, were the 5.3l, which had a similar looking manifold, but had more rounded sides, and larger tubes.

I know '98 1500's (the last year for the 5.7 in 1/2 ton pickups anyway) still had the typical boxy Vortec intake. Apparently they used the Gen 1 small blocks up to '02 in a van application, but I can't find any pics of the intake used in those. Considering the MCX upper intake is mostly a fašade, it seems unlikely the van application (where it's hidden) would have been so purely decorative?

It was just flat black in the trucks I saw it in. The timing would make sense because I was a GM tech from 96 to 2001. They used to have a plastic cover over it, just like the plastic intakes had on the 5.3l.
