They also pull off the dock in a horse shoe shape, so that they're not pulling everyone up at once. And 3 by 300 hp 2 strokes don't hurt either.

It is pretty easy to form a pyramid if one knows what they are doing. The right ropes for the climbers, 10" wide skis for the base guys, VERY stable second layer people, SUPER strong middle guys, and a monkey without fear for the top. My 13 year old has done them 3 years in a row at our neighborhood water ski show and she says it is a cake walk with the right people. But, put one weak player in the mix and they all go down.

Next year she wants to do a double backflip off the top in front of the viewing stand for her dismount. One of our drivers has double dog dared her to do it in the show. She has purposely ditched from the top on many occasions. She can tell if they are about to go down and rather than add to the pile, she just does a flip off the back after telling them she is going and the rest can try to ride out the problem.

That's her at the top. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e179/drvermin/Pyramid1.jpg

Here is the step by step. Someone asked a while back how it is done and I forgot to upload the pics. Sorry for the not ideal quality photos but these had to be taken from shore and the show loop the boat had to make was almost 1/2 mile down the lake to give them time to get up and in position.

Dock start with doubles. The girls have bridle ropes (no handles). Ropes with handles can catch the upper layer girls should they fall. BTW all of this is practiced on land over and over and over so as to get the bracing and leaning back correct. Lean forward, and they all go down.:

Everyone braces, especially the bottom, and the second layer girls stand up. Middle girl that will be come the top has to dig her heels into the guy she is sitting on so she can lift her butt up so the 2nd layer girls can get their feet onto the base guy's shoulders close to his neck.

Once up on their feet, one of the second layer girls bends at the knee so the 3rd layer girl can stand and put one foot on her upper thigh. Then the third layer girl stands on that thigh, and then lifts her other leg to the shoulder of the other second layer girl. That is a big step up. My daughter practiced on land by stepping up onto the top of a 4 foot stepladder so she could have the power in her leg to lift her weight when her foot was almost at her shoulder height.

And lastly, when the middle is up to form the 3 layers, the outside girls stand up to add some flair!
