Hey guys. We are having trouble with MD service on our 2013 X30. Wye River Water Sports is the closest licensed MC mechanic however they appear to be a lackluster dealer. We have called several times with no avail. I also stopped by the dealership on Saturday and they were closed. The location is a mess (overgrowth, clogged gutters with foliage growing in them, chipping/peeling paint, etc). The garage also wouldn't fit our boat. Any advice on where to have warranty and winterization work completed?

You could try Island Marine in south Jersey (south of Ocean City NJ)

www.imboats.com is their website

That is where we bought the boat. It is quite the hike. MC wrote me an email yesterday which stated that they are in the process of finalizing details for a new dealer in MD. Wye River is out.

What about Chessie Marine in Falkner MD? I know then sell Mastercrafts, Nautiques, Malibu's, ect... but im not sure they are a Mastercraft dealer. I do all my own service so I have never dealt with them personally.

Ha. That is where we bought our Malibu in 2003. I spoke with the owners wife last year at the boat show and she stated that they didn't want to take on another company. I wish the Chessie would take on a MC contract. They already have the infrastructure in place. They are also good people.

Did M/C happen to provide a timeline for a new dealer in MD? I haven't been able to get a response from Kellen @Wye River either (he was previously very responsive and nothing but good experiences) ... now I know why.

Here is my email thread:

Hello Gunnar,

I apologize for the inconvenience. We have recently cut our ties with Wye River- due to unsatisfactory customer service and support. We are in the final stages of opening a new dealership in your area. We should have it up and running with in the next few weeks. We are excited for this new partner and the level of service they will be able to supply our MasterCraft owners.

I have been telling people to check back in a week or so- and I will be able to deliver the new dealer information.

If you need service sooner- here are the next closest authorized MC dealers in your area:

That is great news! I understand confidentiality but are you able to say anything about the new dealer? Is it an existing dealership taking on the MC contract or a start up dealer?

Gunnar,

Unfortunately, I am not able to release any information at the time until the partnership is finalized.

Thanks for sharing this. Fortunately, I haven't needed any service. However, one of my ski buddies can tell some very disappointing tales about very poor service and just plain lack of responsiveness from Wye River MC. I'm excited to hear about a new dealership!

I know some of you were asking. Here is the new MD dealer info...

ANNAPOLIS WATERSPORTS
2080 Solomons Island Road #201
Edgewater, MD 21037
(410) 849-2200
todd@annapoliswatersports.com
http://www.annapoliswatersports.com

This location works well for me since the boat is kept at Liberty Marina which is very close.

Has anyone had any interaction with Annapolis Watersports for service? Just curious.

EDIT: I asked too quickly. It looks like the dealership isn't set to open until March 1st.

I've used SKI BOATS UNLIMITED in Chesapeake VA. They have a great mechanic. They know M/C well. Not sure if they're M/C dealers though. Still a 180 mile drive for me. Annapolis would be much closer, 50 miles. Hopefully the dealer has a good mechanic. I tried Wye River M/C but found that aside from not be very responsive, they weren't seasoned mechanics and got in over their head. I had my boat for there for 30 days and they couldn't diagnose/or fix the problem. SKI BOATS UNLIMITED diagnosed the problem in 15 mins and repaired the next day! I did like Kyle as a person though.

I plan to drop the X30 off there this weekend. Being that they are brand new, I have no personal experience yet. On a side note, their grand opening is Saturday from 10am - 1pm. I plan to attend. According to my conversations with the owner, they will have an x10 & x46 and are hoping to take delivery of an x30 and prostar by this Friday.
