I'm planning to inspect/purchase a 2000 model with an LTR. I would like to make an "engine filling" bucket to flush the engine and fill with RV antifreeze for the 900 mile trip home. If all goes well after the test ride, it should be a quick deal and I will need to be back on the road.

So, can somebody verify the inlet hose diameter? Is it 1" heater hose?

When I get it home, I will do a proper drain, but I don't want to make the trip from the north east to the midwest with only water in the cooling system, trans cooler, low spots, etc. and worry about having missed a drain area on an engine/system that is new to me.

Thanks in advance.

Super easy to drain. pull 2 hoses on the exhaust manifolds, drain. Pull the engine block plug starboard side, clean hole in block to remove any sediment etc, drain. Remove knock sensor on block port side, remove plug, clean hole for sediment, drain. Pull hoses on both sides of water pump, drain. Lower hose from the starboard side that connected to the pump housing, drain. Pull plugs in hull 1 center, 1 rear by prop) depending on model. Drain bilge as you drive on down the road. Easy, no mess, no work when you get home. :D

What about taking off the inlet hose and running it to flush out the water with your an it freeze? Should do everything you need.
